Especial characters in files or directories names
In Spanish language many words have " ´ " character (in vocals) if a file or directory have one of these it is not well recognized by file explorers, and its content is unaccesible, or the file is unplayable. The message is "the file does not exist" I can not rename the file with any file explorers i have tried. It would be great the option of rename the files/directories in the file explorer, or support these especial characters that many languages have.
I do not know the limitations of the underlying file system with respect to characters allowed in file and directory names, i.e. your problem might not even be solvable.
Are you talking about files received from other operating systems? When you want to be sure your files work on different operating systems you should not use any special characters: They to easily make problems. (I can even name Windows programs that have difficulties with German umlauts -- something well supported by the Windows operating system.)
