As the Jolla density is allegedly everincreasing, post your stories of how you ran into other Jolla owners across the globe:)

Not met anyone as of now. Although I do fear one thing with meeting other users - a lot of the Jolla users are well versed with how to run what commands, digging into root folders, tweaks etc. I can't handle any of that. Any tweaks I have done has been simply by following instructions posted here.

Maybe you can find some more stories here? https://together.jolla.com/question/93253/sug-sailfish-user-groups/

Density everincreasing??? Hardly....

I see Jolla users now&then in local train as I commute daily, maybe 2 times in a month.

I showed my Jolla to a friend who is a GNU/Linux enthusiast (he actually teach me about Slackware when we were students), he immediately showed me his Jolla :) What a surprise!

A colleague bought one Jolla recently, he was tired of Android and wanted an alternative.

I knew them before being Jolla users.

The most Jolla owners I ever met in one place was of course at the Jolla/DNA launching gala something like 2 years back :)

After that, there have been few occasions:

  1. Three other people at my workplace on my floor have Jolla phones, and one of those has also ordered the Jolla tablet (as well as I have). There are also other Jolla users at work, but I do not know them by name.
  2. I met with @cybette & @coderus & @TMavica & @kimmoli last new year as we visited the Jolla HQ. Of course there were quite a few people with Jolla devices around then :)
  3. I commute by local train every day, and I see about 2 Jolla users per month, which is a real minority when compared to about 10^5 other phones I see...

I haven't met anyone who also has a jolla.

In september I was in poland for a wedding, and when trading pictures of the wedding via bluetooth ( which didnt work at all D: ) my uncle was weirded out by the name "i gave my phone" namely the default name Jolla, which is a female first name in polish... so that was weird.

LOL - Only few minutes ago I learned that my boss's mother is called 'Jola' (the name is spelled with one L, as it seems). Funny that I never heard of it before and now 2 times in one day.

Funny how my 1st reaction to this question was "never met any Jolla owner"... when in fact I know three.

A friend of mine bought the Jolla phone after I blogged about it in 2013. He liked it a lot and only replaced it by a new one when his carrier offered some far superior hardware for contract renewal. (Too bad Jolla didn't have a follow-up model for such customers.)

A guy I hadn't known before contacted me because he needed help with some issues on his Jolla phone. #2

Then finally I met someone from the exclusive Jolla community here at my company. #3

There is at least two Chief Officers (me included) on cruise ferries on Baltic sea carrying Jolla phones. Met the second one when visiting the bridge of an other ship in out companys fleet. Also got one of my collegue to order tablet + phone perk on Indiegogo.

It seems that some Jollas are also sailing on motor vessels...

I know and met @ZogG, the only one guy in Israel with Jolla that I know :) Both of us bought the Jolla at the end of 2013, he "The First One" and I a second bunch (with t-shirt).
We know each other from TMO (N900, N9, N950) :)
One day I met one guy in my work (he is equipment agent in operating room), he saw my Jolla and asked if this Jolla phone. It was surprisingly that he knew/heard about Jolla but he never touched/saw this phone...

Nobody in my neighborhood (probably whole my city) who would knows the Jolla story (except I told it) let alone have it. Unfortunately i was not succeed propagating the Jolla phone yet. In short, HW is so obsolete and expensive (thats is fact) and SFOS still not ready for people out of the community enthusiasts (people wants 100% ready system. no tweaks no patches needed). So still I called as a geeky man with strange phone. :)
