Bug: All pictures disappeared after upgraded to eineheminlampi [answered]
Hi,
I'm quite shocked to see that after upgrading to eineheminlampi, all my pictures have disappeared. Did anyone else have this problem? Do you know the root cause? Any way of getting them back? I guess not, since I've logged in using developer mode+ssh and checked that /home/nemo/Pictures/Camera is completely empty, except for the pictures taken after the upgrade.
Needless to say, I'm quite annoyed.
Oh yeah, this goes for my videos too...

Usually, this is an indication that 'tracker' is not doing its job properly, once again.
There are a few ways you can nudge tracker into starting, either by downloading Sailfish Utilities from Jolla Store or, open Terminal and type in this command and hit enter;

- whether you use the tracker tool in Sailfish Utilities or the command in terminal, the outcome is the same, the tracker scans for system files - I think you will see your pics and videos again soon :)Hi Markkyboy. Thanks for the suggestion, but it does not seem to work. Would the tracker actually copy files from some place to another? Any suggestion where I should look if there are any backups?
Lxt ( 2015-12-03 16:47:35 +0300 )editNo, tracker won't copy the files to another, it just tracks files.. Sounds like you have actually lost it all then, that's a pain in the ass, eh!......I suppose the fact you cannot see them anywhere when SSH'ing to the device, means that they are gone I guess.
Spam Hunter ( 2015-12-03 16:57:41 +0300 )editThanks Lakutalo. The backups were indeed there, but after a restore I still couldn't see them. However, I read about the .vault, so I scp'd the entire directory to my computer and could see that checking out an older git tag, I could find what was missing. So indeed, the pictures were in a backup, but not in the latest backup. Now, I can't swear that I didn't do anything funny between the last and next to last backups, but I don't remember doing it. Bottom line is still that I managed to restore the missing files. Thanks!
