Assign Buttons of Bluetooth Remote

Could somebody please give me a hint, how i can assign the buttons of a bluetooth remote to specific actions?

Vol +/- works, but the others don't.

On maemo this was done by creating a ~/.xbindkeys file.

EDIT: Ok, i found out, that the buttons actually work with the default mediaplayer. But still I would like to assign custom commands/actions to the buttons.
