I recently got myself a Fairphone 2 (Yay!) and promptly installed the community edition of Sailfish on it (of course!). Mostly everything is working great, and the bump in hardware from my old Jolla 1 makes it smooth! However, I have found that the g-sensor doesn't seem to be working. Automatic screen rotation doesn't happen, and after installing two different spirit level programs ("Vatupassi" and "Level"), none of them would start. Is this a problem with the Sailfish port, or is my phone in need of repair?

Thanks for the tip about rebooting, I thought I had done that on the fly during the install, but apparently the install went completely without hickups so I never rebooted after the initial launch of Sailfish! Done now, and screen rotation now works! Thank you! Oddly, both Level and Vatupassi still refuse to launch!?!

I just tested Vatupassi on the upcoming alpha2 Sailfish OS for Fairphone 2 and it works without problems. Also I haven't noticed any problems with screen rotation. Could you tell which Android version you have installed before installing Sailfish OS? The alpha1 release works only with FPOS 1.1.7.

I began with installing the correct Android version as per the install instructions, and the G-sensor began working and never gave me any more problems after a reset. I just didn't realize that several days later, I still hadn't done a reset at all after installing SFOS. :-)
