I can't remember where I read it, but I am most certain it was something like "the Jolla will wake-up after setting an alarm, even if it is really turned-off/shut-down-ed". Is this true or do I remember wrongly?

Mark the answer as answer so that Jolla and others know it's solved :-)

@Nux Sure, just did. Needed to witness this myself first :-)

No it's true, as long as there is a battery in the device and enough power, the device boots up in time to ring the alarm. You need the clock application from the store to set an alarm.

Update to be more precise it does not fully boot up the UI, it just boots so far to ring the alarm. But when the alarm is confirmed, the devices shuts down again.

Note if you want to try it out yourself, put the alarm far enough in the future, ~10min.

Perhaps this is why it didn't work for me, I've tried setting it twice, though, within less than 10'.

Amazing! Tested and it works. Thanks for the reply and the 10min hint.

Thank you. I had tried five minutes away, which I thought would suffice, but that didn't work. Strange that the time has to be so far away for it to work. I thought that just enough time to have a half a minute or so after shut-down would be enough.

@Mohjive@Kontio I am also curious about the "why" hidden in the inner works.

Theoretical best case scenario should be 2min in future, practical it should work with ~4min in future, but I added a generous safety margin :-)
