tnt sms, invoice and tax, jollac shipping

Hi I just received the following sms from tnt: Für die Sdg.xxxx ex HongKong benötigen wir einen Zahlungsnachweis und einen Verzollungsauftrag.Bitte schicken Sie beides an de191kundenkontakt@tnt.de

does anybody has an idea? why was that not provided or done by jolla?

just checked my order within jolla shop. tax is already listed there.

Update1: I sent my jolla order and a confirmation for customs via email to tnt. Now one day later it seems they will deliver.

Update2: Jollac was now delivered, until now no further request for paying additional costs.

You're right, actually I expected Jolla to import the phones to Finnland and send them to the European destinations from within the EU.

just tried to call tnt https://www.tnt.com/express/de_de/site/home/help-center.html first listening to music and as soon as i should get redirected, nothing!?

Since the goods have been shipped from outside EU, you are the importer and it is your duty to provide payment information to the customs. The PayPal receipt should be enough, but I also sent the Jolla Shop invoice, along with my fiscal code or whatever is called your tax ID in your country. I was expecting myself that Jolla would have shipped the phones from Finland and I think that this would have been far less expensive.

I somehow doubt that this information is sufficient. According to the (german) SMS, we need to provide a Verzollungsauftrag ( clearance order ) which allows TNT to process the clearance for us and the question where is this form (on the TNT website?)

@bonanza as I commented on the first post. Tntexpress support said, they will send the clearence document to me as an answer to my email... still waiting..

Mine is being delivered by TNT express. I've been asked for nothing. The tracking said:

  • 16 July 2016 03:09 Liege Euro Hub Shipment Received At Transit Point.
  • 16 July 2016 04:37 Nx8 Released By Customs

Received the same SMS. Mailed them back the online-invoice (from shop), a copy of my PayPal-transaction from my paypal account and a few lines of text: "Ich beauftrage hiermit die Firma TNT, die Verzollung der Ware für mich vorzunehmen.
Ich erhalte die Ware als privater Empfänger und bin nicht vorsteuer-abzugsberechtigt.
Die Zahlung der Mehrwertsteuer habe ich, wie beiliegender online-Rechnung der Firma Jolla Oy, Finnland, zu entnehmen ist, bereits an den Anbieter geleistet.
"

After that the status on TNT-Tracking-Page switched back to "Wird verzollt"

tracking information said TNT would contact me for customs and address. They never did, however:

Did they contact you before the actual delivery? E.g. for a precise delivery time? Any experience how TNT handles the delivery when I'm not at home?

no contact from (the horrible company) TNT, I only view the tracking list.

now tracking says (11:53) Ware Ist Verzollt, Weiterleitung Gemäß Fahrplan - released by customs

back from "out to delivery" to "on the way" (in transit)

My JollaC shipping completion was harassing, but finally I have managed to find the agreement with TNT Lithuanian person I dealt with and resist her request to pay customs clearance fee and extra VAT.

I wonder how successful/straightforward was customs clearance process for other Lithuanian Jolla C shipments. Was I the only in Lithuania unlucky one who dealt with the particular TNT Vilnius department broker, who I presume was dishonest. May be customs clearance was without troubles in other TNT offices in Lithuania?

I do not know should I create new post, thus I am asking here, hoping Jolla C buyers in Lithuania will find it and share their experience.

For me it looks like I'm in the nasty side: TNT here is requiring a full custom declaration that includes added taxes and some extra fees for the bureaucratic service. Already tried to contact Jolla's zendesk service but to no avail since I only got automatic reply since they are still on vacation term. It doesnt sound any nice but I'll try to get it through (and hope the "damage" will be reduced to some days more of delay before delivery).

Update: Fortunately as expected, after some fuzzing with custom forms and two days later, I got it safely.

For me also...the parcel was sent from Nürnberg to Munich and back to Nürnberg for 'physical inspection' (confirmed by TNT).

@Jolla: you did not solve this well. with FedEx and DHL there weren't these problems. TNT are known for this things, so that they can get some 'processing fees' from the recipient.

For me it was totally enough to send them the Jolla shop bill and the Paypal mail. Sent it yesterday and now it is in delivery.

weird, I didn't have any problems with TNT, never do actually. They said delivery would be on the 18th before 18:00 and sure enough, I received my phone yesterday morning. No text messages, no inspection, no tax problems, just super fast delveriy. I live in the Netherlands by the way. Usually DHL and especially FedEx cause a lot of trouble, so I'm happy TNT did the final delivery.

Today I got an invoice in the mail from TNT for handling the customs (32,76 Euro and they add 15 Euro for themselves handling fee). But I never got a mention of it from TNT before. The JollaC was delivered on the 18th of July without any warning or message about customs. I live in the Netherlands. First thing I did was contacting TNT, waiting for an answer from them. I would have never accepted the package if there would be an extra custom charge. I wonder if other Dutch buyers also got an invoice from TNT out of the blue. I'm a bit pissed about it, not just at Jolla for this but even more at TNT for sending me an invoice.

edit: I got a typical non-answer today from TNT that I have to pay because that is the law. Just their standard email they send back to everybody I guess. Not a single answer to any of my questions. I wonder if other Dutch users get the same answer and if we maybe can take some action together to TNT?

With me, it was a bit weird... I am from the Netherlands and received my Jolla C last month, but got an invoice just today. I don't think we are liable for the costs, I even think they just made a mistake at TNT. I have e-mailed them today and hope there will be an answer tomorrow.

You should inform TNT that you have already paid the taxes and provide the PayPal and Jolla shop invoices as a proof. If that doesn't work, then contact Jolla's support.
