Why isn't there any review/video from someone who really has received it's Turing Phone? Or..can someone confirm he/she has received a Turing Phone? Jolla doesn't communicate about it, TRI has sent mails about it has been shipped, but there's no confirmation about someone who has received it... It's almost like it's a hoax....or isn't it?

I hope it's just a delay in communication, but I'm also afraid it sounds almost too "good" to be true

Turing Phone sent mails about the phone has been shipped on July 22. It could take days to have the phones delivered to the customers, but I haven't heard anything telling about ordering one...

RobNas ( 2016-07-18 13:20:41 +0300 )edit

Come on! don't be so impatient. the turing phones will be delivered soon. According to their mail, the first batch has been shipped on the 12th of July. the second batch will be send on the 22nd and the third on the 29th.

If anyone gets a device shipped then please tell us about it.

does this exist at all? has anyone seen and unboxing, or a normal video of is just working, running stuff?

i want to take interest, but looking at their coms, it just looks like a pack of lies.

Hi, i payed for this phone in 2013 when was called Quasar IV, then changed the name to Turing Phone. There is three years waiting and listening excuses and promises from TRI and QSAlpha before.

They blocked me in their facebook page two days ago, and also blocked other customers who where asking about the delivery tracking number.

I think they only have a few prototypes and are sending to their employees and friends. But the vast part of the buyers didn't have never received any phone, just mails and more mails and promises from these people.

Be aware! this is a fraud. A big Scam.

no its not...u could have your money back......or the phone...but yea waiting sucks :)

duleman ( 2016-07-19 04:15:54 +0300 )edit

Waiting sucks? He's paid THREE years ago. For me, this wouldn't be in the category "waiting", this would be in the category "fraud" and "scam". If what allehoop says is true, then he's right.

RobNas ( 2016-07-19 13:09:58 +0300 )edit

I asked for a refund many times during these three years!! But never received my money back! And never received my phone. I talked even with the CEO of this company and he make me a lot of promises, but never acomplish anything. To me this is an scam. I had three years to think and elaborate an opinion about it.

allehoop ( 2016-07-19 14:03:45 +0300 )edit

If this is true, please post this on TJC...I had my doubts about the fancy marketing-speak (liquidmorphium), so please make the people aware of not giving their money to Turing Phone. But remind to have proof of your statement, because talking bad without proof ends in mud-throwing back and forth...

RobNas ( 2016-07-19 17:33:49 +0300 )edit

Many of them got money back, At least thats what i heard. And they are finaly delivering phones now.

Well, I just saw the first photos on twitter of a user @LavishVintage, who received his Turing phone with Sailfish OS. So no hoax, they are for real!

edit flag offensive delete publish link more

Maybe is for real, or maybe is an employee from the company who published these pictures. Sorry for to be so agnostic, but there has been three years listening lies and promises from TRI.

If you check their facebook page you will see many people asking about their delivery still waiting to be dispatched even if they have the tracking number.

So let me be not very confident about it

allehoop ( 2016-07-22 16:03:20 +0300 )edit

It seems that TRI is sending delivery tracking numbers to the buyers but they are not sending the phone, only the tracking numbers, what is very funny, don't you think so?

That's what's happening today at TRI's FB page:

I think they are trying to make believe that Turing Phones are reaching people, but maybe the reallity is that only employees and friends maybe will have one.

They are trying to create the hype so when they will open againg the pre-orders late this summer ,they will scam much more people.

But be aware and don't believe the hype!

Would be nice if Jolla could comment on the Sailfish Licencing status for the Turing Phone, cause if there is nothing really fixed it's most likely a scam... I would only really believe in the phone if Jolla tells yes we have made a licence agreement and the OS is in use from Turing.

Jolla made translation for Turing in SailfishOS https://translate.sailfishos.org/en_GB/sailfish-content-configuration-turing/ so I think they have made license agreement with Touring. Additionally it was possible to touch Touring phone during Jolla event in Helsinki.

atlochowski ( 2016-08-08 11:29:44 +0300 )edit

Hi, there was an official Jolla press release on May that confirmed the licence agreement with TRI: https://cdn.jolla.com/wp-content/uploads/bsk-pdf-manager/NewFinancing_press_release_April2016_FINAL_68.pdf

Vivien ( 2016-08-08 11:32:02 +0300 )edit

Well that gives hope... Now the real issue of the slow shipping are maybe production problems and they want to hide it not to give an impression of failing before starting??

We'll announce more details including the exact date you'll be able to pre-order here on our Facebook page and in an upcoming newsletter."

I have the Dark Wyvern 128GB with 128GB external SD.

I think people just need patience. Its a new entry that has made massive changes recently (going from Android to Sailfish) just being one.

The phone is great overall for a first generation device with solid build quality. Obviously some glitches, hardware issues but part of that is to blame on Jolla providing support to Turing Industries and the software fully integrating with the hardware.

I agree with this! Hardware and OS is great but i waiting "partner space" feature with Turing's own software, now OS is almost "pure Sailfish".
