Is it possible to use the built-in internet sharing instead?

I have the same problem. When having the internet sharing option switched on and after that opening the shareit app, shareit tries to restart the hotspot and fails. Also when sending files it has to connect to the other person's hotspot but it cannot find any avatar(hotspot) to connect to. Seems like shareit doesn't have access to wifi?

Android Apps currently have no access to Wifi settings. This means also camera wireless apps like Panasonic Image App don't work with Alien Dalvik on SailfishOS.

This is something Alien Dalvik needs to solve. In general it should be possible as BlackBerrys Android Runtime does support this.

@utkarsh I have shared files with a pc on shareit and with both being connected to the same n/w and could do it easily.

Hi.

Provided that the Jolla C and Aquafish are the same device, there's no need to install an App to start a WiFi Hotspot:

In the Settings Menu there's an option called 'Internet Sharing'. There you can configure the SSID and the WPA password for the Hotspot.

Regards.

The problem is that the above mentioned android app has no access to the wifi system. ...even with the built-in internet sharing activated.

Hi.

Ah, I didn't get it in the first place :( it was about sharing files, not the internet connection.

Regards.
