August is a lazy month so lets make a poll of some sort.

You get to have one native app that you will pay 10 euros (or the equivalent in your local currency) for. What is it.

Rules:

One answer per person and only one app.

Must be something not having to do with the core os.

Separate answers so others can upvote/downvote.

For those willing to chip in for app development, a place like Bountysource could be suitable to show that interest: How to post a Bounty

Interesting poll. Looking to the (far) future it may even be that native apps (on Android, iOS and Windows) will lose importance and be replaced by so called "progressive web apps": Native Apps are Doomed

Progressive web apps will strengthen Sailfish OS as more and more companies will start to provide browser-based applications instead of native. This may sound like utopia to you now, but the process has already started. So it seems that an awesome (native!) browser will be the most important app for the future of Sailfish OS. The linked article is a good starting point to create your first progressive web app (don't forget to test it on Sailfish OS!). Or try out some progressive web apps now: https://pwa.rocks/

I think this should be a Wiki post.

This is other thing than paying. Jolla should give an alternative method (i.e connmanctl) to be used e.g. with Situations app in addition to totally block connmanctl in e.g. Situations for wifi, bt and flight mode. Thus we as users could choose with our own risks. Let me say, this should be worth 10 euros or a pint of beer.

A simple video editor.

Nothing fancy, just something to cut and perhaps splice videos taken by the phone's own camera.

Edit: I would pay at least €30, not just 10.

Nokia's N95 had such NLE editor. I had great fun with it creating a holiday-movie while on holiday. Short clips, pictures, music, titles and some simple transitions, really nice. The rest of the family was unaware :) Finished it on the way back, so when we got home, I connected the N95 to a TV (tv out!) and got a great end of the holiday. So yeah, would pay :)

MLT might be of use here.

Would like to see powerful FileManger with integrated good editor for text files (qml, conf etc...) also as root. And option for Network connection (sftp, ftp etc...) to easily connect from one jolla device to another. Like android File Manager HD (paid) that I use... And yes, I know that I can use scp command from terminal for transferring files between 2 devices...

Conversations port to SailfishOS to upgrade the (rather poor) XMPP implementation of my Jolla.

It's a question how feasible can be porting of Conversations (being written in Java) to SailfishOS. For me the solution seems to be rather in developing telepathy-gabble (which is used in SailfishOS) up to compliance with XEP-0375's Advanced client or at least Core client, along with implementing necessary GUI-glue.

@ApB not only OTA, through usb too. In my firm that not really great with wifi, because smartphone could only go to the visitor wifi, and for acces on it with my pc, there is no access possible. Alternative is only usb, and it works very well.

Wouldn't mind other channels apps and DNA TV app being ported to native versions too.

There is now a native (3rd party) app called Näyttämö by @joonne! Haven't tested it yet, though.

Browser - Like User Friendly Chrome on Android

With Browsers we access most of the internet. I personally think Browser is the one every OS needs first and foremost. Its Fundamental ... I may be wrong but if we compare the current browsers in sailfish with android & ios, its really worser .

We dont have service Apps from top companies like Netflix, Amazon, etc (1000+). Atleast we need excellent browsers to stream/use online services at full scale. With just the Os, Sailfish cant survive, we need 3rd party services for sure. A excellent Browser is the first step to it

A User Friendly UI (not a problem if the UI is same as android) , Fast , download manager, reliable , Secure and with most of the features .

I would surely pay 10 euros

( Correct be if i am wrong )

Honestly, I'm surprised to see that this has so few upvotes... I believe that a decent browser is pivotal for SailfishOS at this stage, the stock one is broken and we have almost no alternatives. I would love a native Firefox with sync

We now have Angelfish on top of Flatpak, if you are adventurous. Consider it an advanced tech demo, but it is actually very usable!

An application for Ring. It probably only needs some kind of Sailfish front-end, the back-end already exists. Integration with Sailfish would be even better (and it's actually possible!), but a separate application is certainly the next best thing.

Looks more like Tox. There's a Tox client for sailfish — Cyanide, but it's not fully functional yet.

Looks like it, but it actually works. All the best to Tox but they should really stop breaking everything every other day.

VNC client/server

Ok so, yeah the android version will do for this... I'm sorry To all the ppl who voted for vnc, I have to change my answer to this

Kids tracker and parental control apps for sailfish, for this bundle I would shell out more than 10€, currently we have nothing in play, as far as i can tell.

link to an Android version, that unfortunately does not get GPS signal from SailFish side
