I just got 2.0.2.51 and are unable to connect to 4G on 800MHz when sim is in slot 1. it does connect to 4g when the same sim is in slot 2 (same SIM, same location). I also tried another SIM from the same carrier and it behaves the same way - only 3G in slot 1 and 4G in slot 2. please help! (apologies for repost as this way more people are likely to notice this question)

I have similar (same) problem, It says 4G with full strengt but i get "connection problem" (anslutningsproblem, swedish) so I have no internet connection. With Sim in slot 2 I only get 3G connection.

EDIT: I get 4G connection with SIM in slot 2

ok so it's not an isolated issue. a small difference is that in my case data transfer actually works in both slots. i tied to ssu re 2.0.2.51 version --dup but that did not help.

Hello, do you have 2 SIMs in both slots at the same time, or just 1 SIM in either of the slots?

I have tried only with one SIM

i only use one now but i tested it with 2 orange cards and the result was the same. so it does not work in either case

I am using 2 SIM's in my phone, different carriers. Had lots of problems with my private SIM, with 4G it was disconnecting frequently and waking up display which was annoying. So I could use only 3G with this SIM. Chancing card slots didn't work for me. Finally I noticed that my business SIM card (Sonera) was little bit thicker than private SIM card (Elisa). Adding 3 layers scotch tape to private SIM card fixed all problems. Now both SIM's stays in 4G.

this is interesting as with a bad sim contact i would expect the phone to disconnect from the network all together and not just drop to 3G

I can´t confirm this behavior at all:

Updated to Aurajoki 2.0.2.51 and LTE works with sim @ Slot1 (O2 - Germany) [@Slot 2 other Sim is inserted]

After upgrading to 2.0.2.51, I can now confirm that Band 20 LTE (800Mhz) from O2 in the UK is now working on 4G in SIM 1 position. Not had time to try it in SIM 2 position.

no one from jolla has any idea why this is happening and how to fix this bug? i have tried everything that came to my mind but still no luck. so far jolla c is a big disappointment for me :/

richardsvk ( 2016-09-01 17:54:44 +0300 )edit

this has not worked right from the beginning so not a few hours. and fix has not really fixed it. no this is not a minor bug but basic functionality. compared to my jolla phone which nicely jolla c is apparently a step back

Since it's not any problem to use slot 2 for LTE, I don't see this a problem at all concerning the 'basic functionality'! Just use slot 2 and be happy you have 2 slots!

i have an idea which might or may not have something to do with the case. jolla c has 2 IMEI numbers. only one is associated with the jolla account. over here https://together.jolla.com/question/142663/early-access-lte-fix/ keto said there was an issue with the early access registration and that he did that manually for me. i assume imei1=sim1 (that one is shown in jolla account and does not work). imei2=sim2 works. although if this was really the reason i would expect sim1 to work and sim2 not to function and not the other way around - but still maybe this info can help a bit.

Did you receive a settings SMS from your carrier?

With my a bit over year old SIM the mobile broadband just worked (in SIM1) for a month. Then my new, about two weeks old SIM (same ISP, only mobile broadband plan!) worked in SIM2 but I experienced frequent disconnections and waking up of display like @japsi stated here.

I just tried and this new SIM did not work in SIM1 first. After one or two reboots and adding my old SIM (voice call & SMS and 4G) to SIM2 I received new settings from my carrier by SMS. Then right away the new SIM started to work in slot SIM1.

The new SIM is thinner than the old, still I did not apply scotch tape. Let's see...

no i did not. but i believe your problem was a bit different. in my case data actually works in both slots but in slot1 the phone only connects to 3G while in slot2 it connects to 4G. setting are identical. like i mentioned i even tried 2 sims from the same carrier and the result was identical.
