Is it possible that the update is blocked by the Intex specific stuff that I have removed? @srinivas3 I guess you are in India and the gaana app and stuff makes sense for you so that you don't want to remove that, right?

Maybe some with an Aquafish device and the intex repository still in place can comment if they managed to update or not?

@srinivas3 You should have a short title, and put the bulk of the information in the description.

@hubat I've removed the gaana app along with quite a few other things and disabled the Intex specific repos. I got the update just fine.

Please let me know how to disable intex specific repos. i already removed gaana.

Hi, I am using an Intex Aqua Fish for a month or so. I have updated from 2.0.2.48 to 2.0.2.51 a few weeks ago, at the time it became available to the masses (I am not on the early access track). So you can update in principle at any time.

If you can't, then firstly make sure that you have a Jolla account configured on your device so that you can use the Jolla store. Then check 'Settings' -> 'Sailfish OS updates' and use the pulley menu to 'check for update'.

That should do.

Cheers.

To those who can confirm that the update works on Aquafish: can you please comment if you had the Intex barnding still in place or not?

hubat ( 2016-09-21 15:45:10 +0300 )edit

@hubat I still get the "Sailfish + Intex" splash screen when booting up. When you removed things, are you sure you followed that How-To exactly? Can you post the output of $ pkcon search name intex(use some pastebin for the output and post the link here e.g.: http://gist.github.com/ )

kat6 ( 2016-09-21 16:10:11 +0300 )edit

That HowTo may have changed/improved since I did it. I also still get the "Sailfish + Intex" splash screen. But I have not claimed that my system would be identical to the untainted Jolla SFOS version. Here is the output as requested.

BTW: what is the purpose of your request? What do you try to work out exactly?

hubat ( 2016-09-21 17:29:08 +0300 )edit

@hubat I think I misunderstood you when you said above in your comment: "Is it possible that the update is blocked by the Intex specific stuff that I have removed?" to mean that you were having a problem updating too. So i asked for its output to see if you'd accidentally removed anything else. Sorry :)

p.s. You can also remove: sailfish-content-browser-intex. It is just some default page setting.

Edit:

Sorry I misread the question and the following is valid for e.g. 2.0.4.14...

Jolla's community manager James Noori (@james) wrote the following in the comments of the latest Jolla blog post:

Updates to partner devices (like Aqua Fish) are distributed once our partners’ testing has approved it. Our aim is to have the public software update available to all devices at the same time. Early access is unfortunately not available for partner devices. However, the final version will be available after their testing and approval.

You said that you removed some Intex packages. Did you by chance also remove the sailfish-content-configuration-intex package? This is needed for updates.
