Hi there,

i just configured nextcloud to finally sync my Thunderbird Contacts with it instead of exporting+ moving by hand to my Jolla. So i use Thunderbird with Morefunctionsforadressbook Extension and Sogo Connector, Nextcloud (via Hoster ocloud.de) and a Jolla 1.

The Problem i had: As it is the easiest i deleted Contacts from Jolla and created a new TB-Adressbook where I move all my contacts to. But - when i used the normal Email Adress field and synced - the Email Adress on Jolla was marked as business email Adress. I had to put it into the "other Email-Adress" Field to have it marked as private.

Can anyone else confirm this behaviour? And how do you sync with own/nextcloud? Would be nice to hear your experience. Also to know if this is a problem caused by Thunderbird, a thunderbird extension, nextcloud or Jolla. And even nicer if it would be clear how to determine how the enter data is sorted in Jolla.

I can really recommend the Thunderbird Add-on CardBook. It's an alternative to the built-in address book in Thunderbird and uses vCard natively. I have used it for a while and it works really well together with a Baïkal CardDAV server and my Sailfish OS devices.

The build-in address book in Thunderbird is quite limited. For example Email and Additional Email are the only fields for entering email addresses, so it doesn't map too well to vCard (I guess it's the SOGo Connector in your case that creates the vCard from TB's internal format when syncing the address book with the CardDAV server).
