Can we expect Android Support from Jolla Store on community ports, specifically the OnePlus X ?

Are there other features that are blocked ?
What's the reason for this block ? (honest question)
Is there another way to make Android Support work on my OPX ?

Not that I know.
The reason is that Android support (Alien Dalvik) is a third-party feature that Jolla purchases on official ports but cannot be included in third-party ports because it has not been paid for.
There is a community project called SFDroid, look about it here on TJC and on talk.maemo.org.

Thank you for your quick answer. It makes sense. I haven't tried SFDroid or Android Support, but it seems that SFDroid creates a kind of VM where I can install/start android apps. Android Support "just" starts apk binaries, is it correct ?

I believe both of them create an Android "ambient", the main difference being that the stock Alien Dalvik is integrated in the Sailfish UI and allows you to run Android apps side-by-side with Sailfish apps, with separate windows and appearing in the app launcher together, while SFDroid uses a single window where you have some kind of Android phone running in it. Note that the earliest versions of Alien Dalvik worked exactly this way and Android apps were allowed to have each one its own window later (but you still had Android and Sailfish apps sharing the same app launcher).

I don't have an OPX, but from the comment to this question I guess that Exchange sync support and keyboard text prediction are also missing from unofficial ports.

I guess that Jolla doesn't want to extend their deal with Myriad (and Microsoft and XT9) because they are not sure to get enough app sales to compensate for the costs. They seem still quite tight with budget and personnel, and probably they don't want to make risky gambles. Same things as with new phones.

You are right about these 2 features. I thought it was a bug for the text prediction. Anyway, Jolla's decision is understandable. Thank you for the info.
