Found this on Wikipedia:

INOI is a mobile phone with Sailfish OS by Jolla for the first time presented at Mobile World Congress on February 2017 in Barcelona. The OS is open source Linux and have ability to serve additional closed source components from 3rd sides built-in the OS special layers for personalisation and marketing purposes by partner manufacturing a particular device. The real multitasking of Sailfish OS allows to run and use together many software applications, switching them in the fly in real time, without freezing them in background. Number of apps running together is not fixed by OS, but it is limited by amount of memory every next app requires to run and amount of free memory available at the device, until next app can't be launched. The exact specification was kept in secret and availed during MWC 2017.

Why not just waiting few extra hours for Jolla announcements?

That's a Jolla C, right, just with a different housing?

@Highmore Not 100%-ly: Jolla C does not supports USB OTG.

Hello there,

I'm Russian, I'm mobile software developer with Linux background and I recently bought Inoi R7 phone to try it out.

I can answer questions if you have ones.

Which languages does it have available to choose from in settings? Only Russian or the usual list of about 25 official translations? Thanks!

Misc1ief ( 2017-09-17 14:39:04 +0300 )edit

Did they backfit alien darvik // Android support? (Originally it wasn't on board.)

Misc1ief, there is selection of about 25 languages, yes, definitely not just Russian. I used Russian and English, all languages I know :), they look fine.

BlaeX, no Dalvik installed and I failed so far to find one.

mdidaryan ( 2017-11-04 22:28:21 +0300 )edit

The next #SailfishOS community device will be from #Sony's Open Devices program. So basically #Xperia devices.

The INOI Device will be a russian corporate device!

Wow... that sounds promising, the Inoi one is in my eyes a bit too weak from HW point of view I would like to have something with more Ram to survive a couple of years

Tried ordering it from Buyon.ru (using bing translate) to Switzerland. Money was deducted from my credit card, so far so good, then buyon asked me about three times for the shipping address (one message in english!). At some point, I got a confirmation they will ship the device to my address in Switzerland.

Then, about 6~7 weeks, nothing happened.

Then I received a message from Buyon.ru, that they will refund me the money to my credit card. No reason specified though. Two days later, I got the money back on my credit card account.

No INOI R7 for me.

Later, a friend of me tried ordering one to the Ukraine, which was immediately denied though.

The Ukraine result was probably to be expected considering the sanctions they've levied against each other after Russia invaded the eastern part of the country. A few years ago that probably would have worked just fine, but not after the invasion.

Be thankful you got s refund, judging by the shite reviews you've dodged a bullet.

davekelly ( 2017-09-16 00:46:34 +0300 )edit

@davekelly I know. When I placed the order, I was thinking of it as "playing the lottery". Like, sacrificing the money to eventually get something back. It was the same when I ordered the Intex Aqua Fish, but there I "won" the phone.

However, it would be really cool, if one would not have to jump through all these loops, just to buy these phones. It is very likely possible that the Jala Phone from Accione will not be sold to Europe. :(

It looks like that's a (possibly new) Russian company set up to deliver Sailfish OS hardware. If Google Translate is correct (not a given, I know) then it's for Russia and CIS countries, so it's unlikely to deliver to the EU/North America. Mind you, it's good for Jolla/Sailfish that a new partner is on board.

Hopefully there's some other news regarding new devices for different markets. I do need a new phone. My J1 is on it's arse.

Have you ever thought, that this might be a joke? To me it looks like such ... what a home page .... crap and WhoTF is Moroshenko, Dmitry ... just do whois on INOI.COM https://4pda.ru/2017/02/20/336158?salt=1487649009102

I hope this is true for the best of the Jolla community.

Is there any press release or information on this.

Do you remember that Russian Post is purchasing 10,000 Jolla C compatible phones? This looks like the answer to that.

https://together.jolla.com/question/156705/jolla-mwc-2017/ Have a look at this thread there are all press releases from the MWC in an.Answer. Seems legut as far as I can see it. Community device from Sony is awesome!

drummer12 ( 2017-02-28 13:17:21 +0300 )edit

@Giacomo, I recall only rumors and as an old fashion academic I don't believe rumors. In fact as we have seen from the past of Jolla, it might be not a rumor but still fail. I'm just trying to find the truth factor, which is getting problematic. @drummer12 - this is about phone by INOI and it has nothing to do with Sony Xperia - why would you post here?

deloptes ( 2017-02-28 14:49:39 +0300 )edit

That's all press releases from Jolla related to MWC, bit no official statement to Inoi..
