How can I force a new download of a system update?

Today I tried downloading the 2.1.1 update, but it kept getting stuck and forced me to reboot the phone several times. Now I get the message that the update is ready to install. I don't trust it and I don't want to brick my phone. How can I force SFOS to delete all traces of the update downloaded and restart from scratch?

Same here dude, like 1 hour ago, same thing. I ended up removing all patches, that is uninstalling them, not just unapplying. I also removed Storeman (warehouse app) and tried again, third time was the charm!

I have no patches, nor Storeman. The phone believes it has downloaded the update, which I strongly believe it hasn't. Anyway I want to cancel whatever has been downloaded and restart from scratch. How can I do this?

Fair enough. I thought the same about it not being downloaded, but it turns out it was. Some also suggesting just keep trying to update works eventually.

I cannot: the option is now install, no more download available. Also deleting the directory suggested by @coderus and rebooting did not change anything: the phone believes the update is there to install.

if you start installing, presumably the update will fail, then try updating again is what I meant.

Removed the directory, rebooted, but the phone still believes it has an update to install.

In situation like this I usually use this:

devel-su
ssu release 2.1.1.23
version --dup

I would prefer a way to simply restore the phone to its pre-update state and download the update the "classical" way and then install it offline. Internet connection is working badly today and I want to keep on the safe side.

@Giacomo Di Giacomo: OS updates happen in two phases (be they started from the UI or done at the command line ^^^): 1) download and 2) install. If the UI is used then one can stop after the download and install when the time is right (but no Internet is needed in the 2nd phase).

@jovirkku, let me clarify the issue. I attempted download several times but it kept hanging up, probably due to Internet connection problems we experienced yesterday. I had to reboot the phone and retry. After one of the reboots, the phone believed that the update had been downloaded, which most surely had not (and anyway I didn't want to take the risk to brick the phone). At that point I wanted to flush the downloaded data and restart from scratch. That is not possible. So I deleted the update cache and started update, it failed and I could restart. It would be nice to have an option to delete the update files that have been downloaded and to clear the flag of update available without having to resort to shell commands.
