Hi,

For some reason I got google-play-services and google-play-store installed on my phone, which I don't want either of them. But I do use some of the android apps, is it possible to uninstall google-play-services and google-play-store but still have android app support.

If so how to remove them from my Jolla C?

Thanks :)

@Mariusmssj

I use Whatsapp (reluctantly) without google-play-services and/or google-play-store. Android support it seems, is sufficient, at least on my Jolla1. I don't own a JollaC, but I can't see why the processes would be any different.

Can you not uninstall both of those apps from the app launcher?

Did you follow these instructions (https://together.jolla.com/question/114608/howto-install-gapps-gplay-google-play-kk-on-tablet-or-c/) to install google-play? If so, follow them for uninstall. As far as I understood, you need to uninstall Jolla's android support and then re-install it.

Android support without google -services works, but your mileage will wary. Some applications will ask you to install google-play in order to work. Some applications will ask you to install them, and when your respond "yes" they work just fine without google-play install. They just want you to answer "yes" every time you start them up. Then there are android applications which don't care whether you have google-play or not and they just work. Some applications will not work at all, with or without google-play. This is my experience on J1.

I prefer native applications but can understand the need for android support and android application usage.

They seem to keep coming back. That's why i was wondering if there was a more permanent way.
