MMS forever in waiting state

I received two MMS's. I had some networking issue during the receiving and they were not downloaded successfully. Rebooted phone, now 4G works fine but the MMS's are in "Waiting.." state and nothing happens. Rebooting the device doesn't solve the issue. I haven't found a way to see the messages.

Tested on original Jolla / Jämsänjoki 2.1.1.26

Hello,

I had similar issues on both Jola1 and JolaC ( for both sending and receiving the MMS payload).

Solved for me on both phones after 2.1.1.26 upgrade and having updated the "MMS access point" information ("Reset to default" menu). After choosing "Reset to default" in the "MMS access point", everything worked ( no need to reboot)

2.1.1.26 introduced some changes in this area ( new configuration options and probably more) .

If it doesn't work for you, you can use the MMS Logger ( jolla store) -> enable logging, look for the payload/blob URL -> download the blob and decode it. There is a python lib for that, I think, I have to chk home for the script I used - I've done that on a Linux PC, not on the phone

I have found that using openvpn, interferes with sending/receiving MMS. As soon as I stop tunneling, MMS works fine again.

Resetting settings didn't help. I'll try now with MMS Logger application.

Network is Tele Finland aka Telia.

I didn't find anything related with MMS logger. Even tried restarting ofono when it was running, but no URLs or errors in log.

Ok, found a workaround: Long press on the MMS, choose Cancel, and then press the reload button. Now the MMS's are received.

There still is a bug in MMS handling. Probably it should have some kind of timeout in the "Waiting.." state and it should cancel or automatically try reloading the MMS after the timeout. Maybe Jolla guys can fix this in a later update (messaging app is closed source AFAIK).

Same here with an Intex : Can't receive MMS, long waiting and nothing.

I don't get your workaround : if I press Cancel, then I will loose the MMS, which is not the purpose.

Maybe Jolla can fix this for Sailfish X ?
