I ordered a new sim card (from Simplytel which is a reseller and uses Telefonica as far as I know). The new card works perfect in my Jolla 1 but is not recognized in the new Xperia. I am not asked for the pin and it always says that no network is available. I tried a different sim card (from FONIC, a Telefonica reseller as well) and that worked worked with the Xperia.

I got a new SIM card from Simplytel but the problem is still the same: Not even recognized on Xperia, still works on Jolla1 (but no mobile data connection available).

I got the mobile data working on Jolla 1 with the help of the Ofono Log tool.

I now tried several SIM cards and only my FONIC prepaid sim card is working in the Xperia, neither Simplytel (O2) nor Congstar (Telekom) get recognized by the Xperia.

Here is some extract from the ofono log (after systemctl restart ofono.service):

Well, the "solution" has been the following: Flash Android back on the phone, insert the "not working" sim card which works perfectly on Android. Then reflashing SailfishOS where the SIM card is working now.

Well, I hope you tried a simple factory reset of SFOS before you did all that reflashing, because that might have done the job as well. At least I don't see why flashing back to android should be relevant here, but rather the clean SFOS install.

In this support document Jolla say that once in a while there are issues when replacing one sim with another: https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115011240387-Fixing-the-settings-of-mobile-data. Which sim card did you use in your Xperia X before that Simplytel card didn't work?

No, I didn't try the factory reset. I was adviced to test the reflashing Android->SailfishOS. It was a SIM card from FONIC that worked perfectly. All other cards didn't work (neither did Simplytel nor Congstar).

@krrrcks I have similar problem (mobile data doesn't work on Sailfish X while everything is fine on JP1) and factory reset didn't help. I'm wiling to try re-flashing it again but how do I get android back into Xperia? Did you follow some manual? Also wouldn't simple Sailfish re-flashing (without going back to android) do the job as well?

Using "Emma" on Windows is probably easiest way of returning to Android if you want to confirm SIM card working prior to re-flashing SailfishX.

Thanks for your advice, I successfully fixed my problem by re-flashing to android and back to Sailfish with my SIM card in the device.
