[Xperia X] videochat with android apps: camera rotated and of bad quality
Videochat with alien dalvik does not work properly: the front camera is rotated 90° and of bad quality (on top of the image is a green-ish "ribbon". That behaviour is reproducible with various Android apps: I've tried WhatsApp, Skype, Skype Lite, Viber and even Opera with WebRTC.
Attached is the screenshot from my PC, the rotated image is from Xperia, it stays rotated 90° no matter the device's rotation: example from WebRTC chat
Using Signal the orientation is correct; quality and frame rate seem to be ok but the aspect ratio is wrong.

erikderzweite ( 2017-11-17 02:26:59 +0200 )editI can confirm similar problems here. SailfishX with Whatsapp; my face is rotated on the recipients phone and the video - as well as audio - quality is low. Also, and most problematically, the app does not work reliably, both video and audio suddenly stops at times. I had intended a 45 min video call which I had to quit after 20 min because the video and audio had stopped working a couple of times. Audio only worked well though.
