I managed to break my Sony Xperia X -phone, in which I have bought the Sailfish X license. If I have to get a new phone can I install my old Sailfish to the new Xperia X -phone? Or do I have to by a new Sailfish license?

Hi. You can install Sailfish OS to the new phone without buying another license. However, since the license is tied (to your Jolla account and) to the IMEI of the broken device, you need to make a request at Jolla customer support asking them to release the license from the old phone. Once done, sign in to your Jolla account from the new device and the licensed apps will appear in Jolla Store for the new device.

sounds like a legit reason. one license, one device. the price point however might not be very attractive. id immagine, jolla being small and all, they havent thought this through to the bottom.

I lost my new Sony Xperia. :( Now I bought a new one and last week I send a mail to the support. But until now I have no Android support.

Support request (#32187)

Thanks, so I buy the f5122 and install the new version and after I install it I request the IMEI change? Will it mean that having the F5122 bought and installed it will "not boot" until I get serviced by Jolla CS?

Thanks!

Hi. I have same problem. My device F5151 open in repair to Sony and it gave me another device. I open a ticket to Jolla but your services is slow. Have 5 days waiting my request and no answer. Says only to wait.

Thanks that's what I feared, we all know Jolla is a small company and we're all wanting to support but this kind of delay is a huge inconvenience.

The device should work even when not binded to a license for some days like 90 kind of like how windows did.

How long is bv waiting for your license? Sorry to jolla leave your users who paid for the waiting SailfishX and leave no response. They need only change IMEI to new IMEI...
