How to install Developer Tools in Recovery Mode?
Hei Fellow Jolla Users,
Recently I ran into a rather annoying issue. It started a few days ago when I tried to side-load an RPM but my JP1301 said that "Installing untrusted software is disabled". I did not find the menu item in Settings App, so I decided to disable and re-enable Developer Tools. ( Yeah, yeah, I now know it was a bloody awful decision.)
But here I am now with my Jolla phone that is missing Developer Tools menu item, too.
I dug the TJC for answers but I did not find anything that I am easily accepting. I am not so keen about resetting my phone. At least, not before I tried whatever was possible.
So I came up with the idea: What if I could reinstall Jolla-Settings app from Recovery Mode? While at it. Can I?
Note: I do not have Busybox, devel-su nor anything else that could help me. I cannot even SSH into my phone. USB Developer Mode is gone, too.
Please, somebody, help me.
EDIT I
By any chance, could anybody spare me maybe a QML that is responsible for the Settings App's list?

lakutalo ( 2017-12-07 13:56:12 +0300 )editI had the same issue some time ago. I remember only restarting device and retry to enable developer mode and it reappeared again ("installing...").
Yes, thank you, but don't even have the menu item to enable/install Developer Tools. And as my original problem still persist, I am not able to install/side-load any RPMs. O_o
LVPVS over.
LVPVS ( 2017-12-07 14:02:53 +0300 )editThat's queer. Have you double-checked? Settings' menu item Developer tools should appear after Certificates. Otherwise try this to access your cmd line from recovery mode: https://together.jolla.com/question/138839/how-to-run-command-from-recovery-mode/?answer=138840#post-id-138840
lakutalo ( 2017-12-07 14:09:18 +0300 )edit@lakutalo, please see the attached images in the OP. If I manage to start terminal from Recovery Mode and manage to mount all the necessary drives, do I get a chance to install Developer Tools from there? Or at least fix/replace the corrupted QMLs?
LVPVS over
LVPVS ( 2017-12-07 15:05:24 +0300 )editI think I am not of much help from here on. Easiest would be to reload developer tool packages via pkcon given you have got any network connection (you find usable commands here, also for turning on WIFI), or load them from elsewhere, transfer them to µSD card. Still you have not got the option for untrusted software to be installed. But that might be triggered somewhere else. I remember some other useful posts on tinkering about in recovery mode here at TJC. Sorry!
