Hello !

Sometimes, the screen doesn't unlock. It is turn on but it's black. I have to restart the phone to use it again or wait for a long, long time. I thought it was connected to the "double-tap" feature but I don't think it is (maybe it is ?). If it is, would there be a way to fix it without removing it ?

I can confirm this - had this happen a couple of times and it's pretty annoying, especially if you want to take a picture or call someone when this happens. I even tried to wait a bit but it didn't help, so it really looks like the only fix is to turn the phone off an on again by long press of the power button.

I had a similar issue twice or threetimes. I trie to unlock the phone, the backlight of the display lit up, but the phone was unresponsive. Unluck button switched off and on the backlight, but the display didn't show a thing. I remember once I put the phone in this unresponsive state back into the pocket, ~10min later it functioned as usual without further actions. I also activated the double-tap-feature, si thus might be connected to the problem.

I have had this few times too. Now double tap is disabled. Hope it fixes the situation.

Lately this behaviour occured mire often on my phone and I played a bit with touch inouts, button presses and so on. I could lastly successful unlock the phone after I lit up the backlight by pressing the powerbutton, then covering the sensors at the top speaker, wait for backlight to switchoff and unlock via powerbutton again. But I did this "unlock-and-wait-to-turn-dark-again" tactic with several other inputs before, so you might have to try and error a bit.

I think that restarting mce service helps, but it's not practical.

I can confirm my suggestion from the comment.

Steps to unlock the Xperia X if it refuses to unlock and only lights up the backlight:

  1. Cover the optical sensors at the top speaker
  2. Push the powerbutton once
  3. Wait for backlight to automaticaly turn off
  4. Press the powerbutten once again
  5. Profit

You might have to repeat these steps, but I could unlock my Xperia with these instructions every single time.

Maybe more or less off-topic: I'm currently using the "doubletap wakeup" trick below, but this requires to wait until the screen turns off. I couldn't find the improved trick to avoid the screen-off delay. Does anybody remember the missing line?

Current trick:

 mcetool --set-doubletap-wakeup=always
 mcetool --set-doubletap-mode=show-unlock-screen
 mcetool --set-low-power-mode=disabled
 mcetool -i disabled
 mcetool -z proximity

EDIT - OK I found it:

mcetool -M show-unlock-screen
mcetool -z proximity
mcetool -i enabled
mcetool -E enabled

Enabling double tap can cause display freezes requiring a reboot.

Enabling doubletap in the manner brought up here i.e. "mcetool -z proximity" will cause broblems.

Thx for warning. By the way, is there a hope of this doubletap issue being fixed once for all in a future SFOS release, or is it a permanent Xperia f5121 breakdown?

This is different (I have seen both) - in this case the screen is solid black and the device needs to be rebooted by a long press of the power button.

In the issue you link the lockscreen is displayed, it just does not react to touch and can be fixed by turning (just the screen) off an on again (by two short presses of the power button).
