Telephone connection gets on hold while speaking on the phone

I have noticed a quite annoying problem on my Xperia X.

When I speak on the phone, the connection gets often on hold and sometimes gets cut off like it would lose the mobile connection but according to the icon that isnt the case.

Sorry, that I cant give further information but I dont have any idea, whats the problem. I didnt have that problem on my Nexus5 or Q10.

Does anyone has the same issue or knows how I can solve this?

Thx!

I had this issue on Monday when I called a firend. Also from my Xperia X. I thought, I have touched something on the display with my ear while calling... but that seemed not to be the case.

I can confirm the 'hold' bug. till now I thought I have too unusual ears for the sensor ;-)

I've experienced it as well.

Hi,

I am experiencing the same issue. The telephone settings are changed unwillingly with the ear (it is possible then to change the "hold setting" in the pulldown menu and get the call back).

Even worse and related to this issue: While using Signal for telephone calls the speakers are activated with the ear: it can be a painful, unpleasant experience...

I believe disabling reliably the touch display during phone calls is the problem here... Prevents me unfortunately from using my Xperia X with Sailfish in the future...hope it can be fixed.

Maybe itis related to the many other connection related threads, e.g Mobile network issue. I think there is something wrong in hardware adaption layer, which causes wrong states and disconnects. Hopefully we get a fix in next release...

How could we update the firmware blobs between Sailfish (libhybris actually) and hardware?

I've had this issue too. I believe it happens if your ear is not covering the light sensor and the phone brushes against your ear in an upwards motion. It's effectively your ear working like a finger! I'm now careful not to move my phone when on calls but I agree this is a usability bug and should be fixed. Maybe changing the drag threshold while in a call would work?

Is there a workaround to disable the hold option? I have problems with it multiple times in a week. I just want to get rid of the pulley menu. I don't need it at all till this is fixed by jolla

I always experience the same problem during call, also on AquaFish and JollaC. It is pretty much annoying. Last week I had to recall someone 3x because it continuously kept broken. Sometimes nothing til weeks, then it happens more times a day. Restart does not help. May it be related to bluetooth connection (car) problems, that is also to be experienced since a few updates ago?

I dont know if this is the same bug. for me it shows 'hold call' or 'anruf wird gehalten' in german. i dont have to call again, if i use the pulley menu to unhold the call. problem is, it goes too easily on hold, especially on important calls ;)

How do you disable the "hold call" feature? This phone is my daily driver, and when not using headphones i keep putting my call on hold with my ear...
