Mobile Provider connections non fucntional.
Ok I am feeling this is something wrong with Sailfish now.
So I have an Xperia with Sailfish X on it and thus far been happy using on wifi. But in light of the up coming Gemini release and figured I would give mobile services a shake down.
Imagine my confusion when I put a valid Pay as you Go Sim in and don't end up with a mobile signal. The was a Three SIM.
Ok no big problem I have another mobile SIM an O2 one, I use that? Nada? That does not work either.
And even though when I scan for networks to choose from (it defaults to Vodafone UK for some reason) I see the 4 providers for the UK , Vodafone, EE, O2 and Three, fine
but when I select O2 for example it just sits there for about 3 minutes and then a error is displayed saying "Opps unable to connect"
and going back to the mobile networks I can see I am denied access ?
Well putting this sim in another phone grants me access so I can only assume it is the Sailfix X is at fault?
Anyone else had this problem?

toPrefer 3G
and try again. I sometimes get denied access to my network (o2) when set to Prefer 4G, by knocking it back to 3G, allows me to get connected again, but this is on Jolla1, not Xperia/SailfishX.Hmmm yeah tried that but still no joy. When set to automatically register it just sits there
If I try and register it manually it times out with the same message Opps. sigh
veritanuda ( 2018-03-29 15:19:28 +0200 )edit@veritanuda Presumably you never ran this Xperia X with a SIM card in place whilst upon Android before flashing Sailfish X? Seem to remember this caused some issues way back, but can't remember whether related to community build or licensed version.
aspergerguy ( 2018-03-29 15:32:34 +0200 )editNope don't recall so. Bought the Xperia 2nd hand off Ebay for the soul purpose of putting Sailfish X on it.
Should that really matter though? I know I had to update the Xperia to the latest Android to be able to flash Sailfish X in the first place, so any binary blobs that were carried across should still be there.
