Moving around on the overview of pictures/videos in the new Gallery (2.2.0) is rather wonky, it bounces all over the place, and trying to swipe back to the main page often doesn't work. The improvements to the image viewer itself are very welcome, though.

Can be reproduced consistently this way:

  • Open Gallery
  • Tap on 'Photos'
  • Tap on the first picture in the overview
  • Close it by swiping down
  • Swipe diagonally, or to the right and then down (in one go)
  • You will now both open the pulley menu and go back to the previous page

@vattuvarg: you can see for yourself (if you're on 2.2.0.29), on the overview you can now swipe left/right and up/down simultaneously (i.e. diagonally), which lets you select something in the pulley menu whilst going back to the main page.

what's an overview? when you open a photo? you can swipe diagonally occasionally, but there are no pulley menus in there, and it's not that easy. But it's surely not an overview=) and at the screen with photos list you can not swipe left and right o_O. Well you can swipe right to go back to home page, but swiping diagonally doesn't do a thing for me=(

Actually the whole gallery is a step backwards. There's 2 ways to close a photo (X symbol on top right and swipe down), the function buttons require exact aiming instead of the casual swipe i was used to... It feels like an ooold Android app running inside Alien Dalvik,
