Thanks for improvements in Mouhijoki [not a question]
Sometimes I complain, but when praise is deserved, it shall be published as well: thanks for the latest release 2.2.0.29 Mouhijoki. Now I feel much more satisfied with my Xperia X/Sailfish X. Just a few improvements were enough to increase my level of satisfaction and become a happy user again:
- native VPN is working fine again, great!
- longtime awaited, I can now unzip mail attachments or files in the file explorer natively without going to the command line
- well hidden in the section of Hardware Adaptation: "Xperia X: droid-system cleaned up to save space in root partition". Yes, it freed about 300-400 MB on my system partition!
- and I never thought I would like such a thing, but, well, I do love the fingerprint unlocking now, so easy.
There are other minor things improved as well, and still some more I hope to get fixed or implemented soon, but let's put those aside and congratulate now the whole team for this release: thanks again, and keep the good work, looking forward to test Sailfish 3 this year!
From this list I noticed root partition free size increase from 900M to 1.2G. Could not get fingerprint unlocking work on first try. Sailbook is faster now.
too ( 2018-06-04 23:43:51 +0200 )editAnd it even feels smoother...but maybe I am biased. ;-)
hard facts:
- Gallery is now much better
- QtWebview is much faster and, hence, e-mail client useable again.

cy8aer ( 2018-06-05 09:14:37 +0200 )editSome android apps do work better now. For example "Cozify" apps screen now shows all the buttons so it should (some buttons went hidden still in Lapuanjoki). And I feel that in general Android apps run faster. Nice!
Gallery app is waaaaaaaay better than before! Now I actually can show it to people who are interested in SFOS, before I wouldn't want to show it, it was plain weird... But now, I like it!
lumen ( 2018-06-06 09:07:46 +0200 )editOne feature I am happy to see is that if I am playing music or a podcast when a notification comes in, it lowers the music or podcast volume slightly and does not obstruct it. Well done!
