Possible to take 4K videos with Xperia XA2?

@mlohse: The exposure conditions in the second image depend on where you tap on the liveview screen. Tap somewhere in the foreground and you will have white sky and green trees. Tap on the sky and it will be blue and the foreground is all black (maybe except for the river reflections).

There's not so much you can say about the SF camera until you show an Android comparison with the same exposure settings.

Yep, sorry. As said, this is only meant to give you a first impression. It's usable for daily life and Facebook, but if you want to print your photos on a poster, you may need a more decent camera. To make it clear: If you currently own a Jolla 1 or Jolla C/AquaFish and want a better camera go for the XA2 - it's a huge improvement. If you're already using the XA2 with Android, you'll loose some quality, but not a lot (for me it's acceptable).

I can't do a full comparison here as I don't own a second XA2 with Android on it. The test pictures taken with my colleague's XA2 where taken in the office and unfortunately contain some information I can't post here in public :( While picture 1 was a no-brainer (just click and you're done) I've tried hard to get the most out of picture 2: I've changed the exposure time and of course moved the focus around. But either you get a nice blue sky, with everything else completely black or noisy rocks and river with a completely white sky. The picture I posted was the best I could get with the focus on the mountain's summit and exposure time increased by +0.5.

Also xperia x is able to capture 4k video. But it's not necessary until Jolla compile 4.4 or 4.9 kernel to xperia x, because due the camera drivers are crap in older kernels.

Flashed my Xperia XA2 last week. Video recordings have many issues, they are not smooth, 4K is missing, no video settings in camera app, even location data isn't stored. Hope we will see some improvements soon, there ate so many things buggy an missing in Sailfish OS that prevent to use it at daily driver... (And compared to my Lumia 950 all photos and Videos taken with Sailfish are... bad.)

Cryx, I had a Lumia 950 as well. .. And I think that neither android nor the photos are as good as they were in Lumia ...
