Hey guys,

I just spent 29.90 EUR (what kind of stupid price, do you try to fool us with that? Why dont you take just 30!) for the well announed feature "Android Support Beta" for my XA2 Ultra. After installing it there is really no such support.?!? I try to find Firefox on the Stores: No result I try to find Nextcloud on the Stores: No result I try to find Google Play: No result So where is the so called Android Support??

Try to be honest!

you need to download the apps you need from the internet as apk and then install it, it is best to install the file browser from the jolla store to make it faster

https://de.uptodown.com/

is a good address to load what you need

  1. Install Android support from Store, see "Jolla" category
  2. Go to fdroid.org and install F-Droid
  3. In F-Droid, install "Yalp store"
  4. Install apps from Yalp store (or of course from F-Droid which has Fennec which is some fork of firefox)

I use APKs downloaded from: https://www.apkmirror.com as it hasn't ever installed sketchy crud on any device I've used previously.

android support is NOT google play btw. It.is the layer.to run android apps. This does not.work.well if the app you want.requires google services. Google play btw. did stop to work cause google decided not to support devices like ours.

honestly :)

But Google Play Services do work, only the Google Play Store does not open, at least on my Xperia XA2 with newest version Oulanka .

@hammer Never text in grumpy mood. And what @bomo said. There is no official GPlay support in Sailfish. You can find some workarounds if you search this board, but with the two mentioned stores and the official Jolla store (also containing android apps) you should be mostly fine.

Apart from that: Sailfish is its own OS including apps. If you completely want to rely on Android apps, then Android is your OS. Try to stay native and use Android apps as little helpers where there's no other option.
