Documents app quits when opening Excel files [released]

Since the last update (3.0.2.8) it is not possible to view xls and xlsx-files anymore (XA2 single SIM). Thanks to SFOS 3 I can do it with excel instead of documents but this is very complicated with mail attachments because of the issue with the android-storage. Has anyone else this problem?

Edit on Aug.27th: No solution in 3.1...😒

Same here, I thought it was me or the file or a combination of both. The Documents app just quits after opening Excel files. This is on a J1.

"Same" here on JollaC.

2007 format xlsx does not open, whereas older 2003 xls as well as doc, docx, pptx does open. Edited the question to reflect this (please undo if not correct for you).

My very bad, I forgot to add my very own patch when I upgraded to latest Calligra last year. Resulting in XLS files being all broken. Here is the MR in Mer gitlab reapplying the patch. I'm very sorry for inconvenience…

I think this commit looks promising as a solution for this bug.

@chris7chris No, I didn't. I don't even have the SDK installed, so no. (Back in the early days of smartphones, I created a TV remote app in about an hour, but now I have several kids to play with!)

But I don't expect a new release too soon. If you look at the latest (fundamental) changes, I have the feeling that it takes some time to stabilize. I may of course be wrong with that!
