Android apps do not honour the rotation lock settings on XA2. They rotate freely.
This is the same behaviour as was seen many years ago and then fixed.

Update to 3.3.0 still didn't fix everything for the Android apps in Android 8.1:
Preventing the autorotation temporarily by touching the screen while turning the phone is not working correctly for Android apps. Once you stop touching the screen, the autorotation will happen. This does not happen in Sailfish apps which will keep un-autorotated even after taking the finger off.

@teemu: You are right. While having the dynamic setting selected and the device in landscape orientation (for example), if one keeps a finger on the screen, turns the device to the portrait orientation and pulls off the finger, then the display turns to portrait in case of Android apps but keeps the landscape mode in case of Sailfish apps.
This should be considered a detail compared to the problem originally reported: "Android apps do not honour rotation lock setting". That is fixed in 3.3.0.
Still, I will file a new bug about this remaining issue.

In addition; the freshly flashed 3.2.1>3.3.0 XA2 didn't turn any Android apps at all until I flippes the screen rotation to portrait and back to dynamic in Jolla Settings. No fancy stuff installed.

And yes, you can "hold" the screen unrotated in Android apps when turning the device but once you "release" it the flippance will happen at that point.
Honestly, I never even noticed the main issue of the Android apps not respecting the "full" autorotation lock. But this one-time autorotation prevention is a complete killer feature I love; I am in habit of reading stuff from internet on Chromium browser before going to sleep and want the screen to stay vertical (in relation) when I and the device go horizontal.

The mains functions of display rotation do work now in OS release 3.3.0.
However, one cannot temporarily prevent the autorotation with a fingertip on the screen. We have filed a separate bug about this.

Citing the release notes for 3.3.0:
Display orientation lock fixed for Android apps
Goshdangit. The upgrade to 3.3.0 also fixed the trickery that gave you access to Android Settings by opening Settings - Applications - [an Android app] - Open AndroidTM Settings and then pressing the back button, which minimized the window and after re-maximizing it you found yourself in the master Android settings.
I had used this to switch off autorotation for Android apps, but now I apparently need to install Aliendalvik Control to get there to switch the autorotation back on.
If you too have been using this, be sure to switch autorotation on before upgrading to 3.3.0.

Have the same issue with my XA2 Ultra.
