I'm completely out of my depth. It took me a day to install the OS (terrified - not my phone!) and then a week to find and add a licence successfully.

Are there any guides for absolute beginners, please?

I need to put 1 Android app on this phone, and I don't know how.

Where is this Android support or alien wotsit?

If there are no guides or they haven't been quite written yet for newbies, I'm happy to add to any rtfm threads.

You all don't know what you know! But me and others really do need to know, from the basics onwards.

I'm up for changing the world. First though, just how do I add an Android app, please?!

Go to your Jolla Store App. There is a section Jolla (alternarivly search or sort by popularity). There you find the app Android support. The further progress depends on the app you need. If its from pmay store i would recommend installing fdroid by downloading the apk from their website and then installing yalp feom there. This does not work for all apps but for most from play store.

Open the Jolla Store, scroll down. Open the Jolla section and install Android support. Then go back to the Store main screen, scroll down and open the Stores section, install the Android Store.

Remember that this is not android, so all apps which need Google Play Services will don`t work

@Stanislav1988 not entirely right. Some android apps complain about missing gplay services, but run properly anyway.

And for the other application, there are technical solution, either to install the official Google Play Services, or to install MicroG, the opensource implementation of the same APIs.

Though they ARE NOT noob friendly.

In my case MicroG is good enough to keep my Bank's 2FA happy.

We have a number of "help articles" in here: https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/categories/200115337-Product-Usability

Most of them should be up-to-date.
