Rather odd behaviour as of late. I cannot update from any repository and also not form the Jolla store. I receive the response that it is not possible to update any
Furthermore, an update of the OS to the latest version -- I am on 3.0.2.8 -- to 3.0.3.9 is not possible. I receive the error that the size of the file in the repository could not be made out.
I also cannot switch to the developer mode and can therefore not activate the terminal. The installation does not succeed and ends at some point.
I made a reset of the app registry, but it had no effect.
Any ideas on what I could do?
Before you do anything, go into recovery mode and dd an image of the mmcblk0p28 partition to microSD. Wish I had, my Jolla 1 is currently bricked and I can't either repair the filesystem image or find a firmware image to copy to the phone.

That said, I don't think you'll be able to become root. I am not sure about the recovery, but doesn't the recovery let you access the device as root? That should let you do some things. You may be able to set a password for root so you can use

once you boot normally to gain superuser capabilities. I am not sure how good of an idea that is, and I'd backup /etc/shadow before setting a root passoword. Just some ideas, hope it helps you somehow.
