Contacts are disappearing / reappearing periodically (Sony XA2, SailfishOS 3.0.3) [duplicate]
It happens periodically and looks like there are some issues with synchronization with gmail account. Any ideas how to troubleshoot?
We have moved to a new Sailfish OS Forum. Please start new discussions there.

It's a longstanding issue: https://together.jolla.com/question/175382/bug-contacts-disappear-if-google-account-contact-sync-fails/
It has had the effect that I've learnt the number of many of my contacts by heart 😄
Mohjive ( 2019-05-22 20:04:16 +0200 )editplus it's still way better than google calendar not contacting any android calendar client.
danfin ( 2019-05-22 22:00:49 +0200 )editis there any workaround? or is there any plans to fix it? extremely annoying.
ElderOrb ( 2019-05-23 00:21:58 +0200 )edit@ElderOrb: the question I linked is tracked by Jolla, so reckon they have it on their roadmap. Unfortunately I don’t know of any workaround to use in the meantime. ☹️
Mohjive ( 2019-05-23 08:23:38 +0200 )editI've been able to work around this problem by manually importing all of my contacts on the phone. I use gmail, so I exported them all to a file from gmail web, then imported them to the phone via settings->apps-->people. Unfortunately, this has caused an even worse side effect that my battery drains at a rapid pace. I think this is because I have 447 contacts--coworkers and various people I don't really ever contact--and

shows that /usr/bin/contactsd is pegged at 100% cpu almost non-stop.
