Voicemails in WhatsApp on Xperia X [off-topic]

Hello, I am a relatively new Sailfish X user and have found that received voice messages can not be played in WhatsApp. Starting the playback process will reduce the size of the WhatsApp window and the playback will not start. Is this a known bug and can I expect that it will be fixed in future?

Interesting. I've been able to play and use voicemessages both with Xperia X and XA2 now. Have they ever worked on your X or you've just got it now?

Many thanks for the answer, I've been using Sailfish for a very short time and have lots of questions. The voicemails could never be played. Maybe I did something wrong. I first installed the free sailfish version and added the Android support later. I would like to equip two Xperia XA2 with Sailfish. The Xperia X serves me for testing. I hope that I can handle all the little problems in order to be able to use the systems in everyday life.

Sorry! My own fault! The non-playable language files were obviously damaged audio files. Tests with a friend's language files confirmed that there was no error. I did not immediately realize that the non-playable files are attached damaged audio files. Sorry again!

hi sailaway, I ran into the same issue recently. I receive a daily podcast via WhatsApp, but I cannot play it anymore. If I go to the directory where the file is being downloaded I can play them without any issues.

It's unclear to me how you solved the issue. Did you just remove WhatsApp and reinstall it?

Hello Jozz, I did not solve the problem. I just confused voicemails with file attachments. The attachments could not be played. My problem was "solved" when I noticed that the attachments are not voice mails. Maybe I have the same problem as you, because the attachments can not be played. However, since I assumed that these are faulty, I did not search further for a solution. If there is an error when playing attachments I can not say exactly. I would have to re-examine this.. Maybe you should open a new topic.
