Hi,

I just updated my XA2 Ultra from 3.0.3 to 3.1.0, and it went smoothly. However, I can't see the signal strength, Bluetooth status icon and clock, the whole bar is missing.

I tried to reboot the device, shut down and power on, no change.

When I go to Sailfish Utilities and reboot the UI, the bar is shown correctly for the last frame, just before it freezes and screen goes blank. After the operation it still doesn't appear. Any ideas how to fix this?

My XA2 doesn't have this issue, only my XA2 Ultra.

Do you also see the status bar briefly when you restart the UI via Sailfish Utilities?

I did it a few times without success :)

I've experienced the same and a restart helped.

And now without any reason or rhyme, I have the ststus bar.

I have been installing and removing apps, messing around with MicroG, terminal, videos, camera... No clue, but it works.

Perhaps it was enabling/disabling WLAN that somehow refreshed the icons properly and now it works? The nerd in me wants reasons! :D

Other users they already commentent. In my case, if I reboot or boot with charger connected the statusbar is gone, but if reboot without connect the charger the statusbar show fine. XA2 with SFOS 3.1.0.11.

I have tested this many, many times, and I hace encountered this with and without charger connected.

Then again, I have been getting successful reboots and powerups with and without the charger being connected, so that is not the cause either...

I've observed the missing statusbar only while rebooting with a charger connected. Patchmanager is not installed. Rebooting after disconnecting the charger solved it for me. XA2, SFOS 3.1.0.11

Confirming it. No ststus bar if boot with charger connected!

Same Problem here on my Xperia X, since 2 Day the top icon bar is gone, restart doesn`t make the bar visible. How can i reset the GUI configuration ?

If restart the screen via SFOF Helpprograms i see the bar 1-2 seconds and the then bat is gone again.

EDIT : solved remove Patchmanager v2 and install Patchmanager v3

That's not really the solution. It must be another mistake. When I install Aliendalvikcontrol (via Storeman), a small message will appear at the top telling me that the APK has been installed. After that, the status bar has disappeared. This is reproducible on my XA2 (3.1.0.11) and has more to do with installing Android apps or apps.

I have to restart the device to make the status bar visible again.

I had the issue without any Patchmanager installed, and now today finally with Patchmanager 3 Beta installed, so it's not the cause...

Direc ( 2019-08-11 18:43:33 +0300 )edit

i head the issu with patchmanager 3 , reinstalled all patches and patchmanager nakes the statusbar visible again.

Since yesterday I have the same problem. The status bar is gone and I haven't found a way to bring it back, yet. Numerous restarts while charging or without haven't fixed it.I have no Patchmanager installed.

Got it working now as described here: https://together.jolla.com/question/107963/where-are-the-status-icons/?sort=votes&page=1

"Reboot did not resolve the issue for me, but

pkcon get-updates pkcon update

as devel-su in the terminal resolved it."

Hi, i notice that the status bar always gone when booting with pluged in USB Charging Cable. Booting without connected Cables causes no errors.

Device : Sony Xperia Compakt (F2123)

Hi all,

First of thank you all for your valuable input here. Respect.

Could somebody who is able to reproduce this issue give a little bit more information still. Which top menu toggles are enabled i.e. which status bar icons should appear. Further, would it be possible to get journal logs from boot.

ssh to device

devel-su

journalctl -ab --no-pager > boot-without-statusbar.log

Also information like do you have sim pin requested? device lock in use? How frequently the error occurs? Might help sorting out this issue.

I have a clean xa2 device in my hands and so far have not been able to reproduce.

Thanks, Raine

I can reproduce it, until now only when booting up while charging. XA2, SIM PIN not requested, no device lock. It never happened before today (while I upgraded to 3.1 a few weeks ago) journalctl -ab --no-pager (after a bootup with the problem) yields this logfile

I don't have steps to reproduce either; it comes and goes. I'll report when I get it triggered again.

What icons and elements disappear: the whole shebang. Time, network, location, everything. (Imagine every element is completely transparent.)

The attached journal reviled a source of error. However, I'm still failing to reproduce the error. Nonetheless, I have prepared a fix as per found error.

@rainemak I am able to reproduce this issue the following way:

  1. Enable WIFI and cellular network. Disable GPS, Bluetooth, NFC etc. Set the thereshold of the powersaving mode to 20%.
  2. Discharge the battery of the XA2 to 15%
  3. Reboot the device and the statusbar is gone

My charger was not connected to the device. Only WIFI and cellular network was enabled (WIFI was used). Also the powersaving mode was active (thereshold: 20%).
