my freshly flashed xperia xa2 is freezing with blinking orange led. nothing i can do but hold powerkey. led is switched out like this but it won't switch on again unless i disconnect the battery (siq) or wait till the battery is dead,,, ssh connection is not working, 3 times powwerbutton doesn't work, holding it down for 2min also not...

pretty shitty. waited till jolla said we are out of beta... dosn't feel so...

beside that mobilenetwork is not working for most android apps...

any help? ideas? perhabs some feedback from jolla? similar experiences anyone?

EDIT: after it was lying around for the night it blinks now 3 times red if i push the powerbutton. now i can load it and it is bootable. asuming it emptied the battery overnight it seem to hung up in a operation consuming much cpu... otherwise i doubt the battery would drain so fast...

EDIT: i flashed vendorimage to 17b... hopefully it helps. after reboot i still couldn't connect most android apps via mobiledata...

EDIT: 17b didn't help. same problem again....

EDIT: if u tell volume up and power... it works 1 out of 6 times... just right now my mobile got stuck when i was trying to launch an android app, froze completly, i triied to reboot with volume up and power but it just went dark again... gonna wake till its empty to avoid to disconnect the battery.... any help would be highly apreciated...

EDIT: again while charging. led blinking and force reboot without effect...

EDIT: this time: triied to open an android app, led blinked red and than it froze again... some android apps don't start, the one causing the freezing this time normally works great... zendesk didn't asked for any logs, just told me to flash again... after i knew xperia x is abondonend i was pissed, but that i would pay 49 euros for a system that is that instable is ridiciulous...

EDIT: pretty sure its the android part that is causing that issues... it only happens after i close android apps... reflashing vendor image didn't help, only changes the led color before the freeze,...

Press and hold volume up and power keys for about 5-10 seconds to force reboot.

not working. triied everything.

Try again. It's a hardware circuit so it must work. Volume up + power switch reboots the phone when held down for several seconds.

on 17b it works now.... on 16 i swear it didn't was trying that all day long the last two days to avoid i must open the device... EDIT: sometimes it worked. most of the time blinking yellow led means wait till battery dies or till i opend and disconnected it...

When using power & Vol+, you need to press and keep holding both buttons down for 5-10 seconds until the phone vibrates (if it works the display should show the unlocked bootloader message). Timing also matters, if you don't press both at the same time it won't work.

I've had something similar with my XA2 (flashed with Sailfish in February), where if the phone has been sleeping for a while and it gets a notification as indicated by the yellow flashing led, sometimes it does not want to wake up. power & Vol+ fixes the problem for me.

SOLUTION IF PHONE IS ABSOLUTLY DEAD: Had the same problem here with same device. Yellow LED, Hard Reset by Power + Louder, Reboot into Sailfish, going down because of low battery. Charging didn't do anything but show the symbol for charging but percentage didn't raise. Finally it fell into brick mode. The "Brick" laid 3 days untouched because i had not found time for packaging and send it to service. But today after i talked to a friend who is also a sailfish-fan who i told the story, i simply tried to start the phone a last time and then: red led! Put it on cable: red led blinking and showing phone-internal charging animation! Try to start: sailfish boots up und restarts because of low battery but boots into sailfish charging-state where it is remaining now by 85%. Slow loading because it is connected to my PC but i will let it remain till 100%. Better be super careful if it was a deep discharge. So TLDR; wait 3 days an let it raise and watch out for the voodoo. :o)

thank u a lot, but i know it. like i wrote, u also could open it up to disconnect the battery instead of waiting three days...

but: i don't like any solution that gives me the choice between waiting three days or open it up... if xa2 is out of beta, i insist their should be a better solution... ;)

sorry, i was so happy that i got it back to life again, that i missed that point. i edit my post to make that clear. So let's wait if it is 100% the same error that you have and hope it will be fixed soon.

This is actually NOT a solution! It helps getting the device up again, but the situation still prevails. I have 2 XA2 devices. One is working flawless, the second always got stuck at some time. When I first tried in July or August, I thought it had to do with some beta stuff. Since it wasn't getting any better I left it in the drawer laughing at me. When it was announced that Sailfish can be flashed on Android 9 now I though I give it another try. Back then I had to downgrade my device as it was on Android 9 already. Well, what can I say: I had it flashed back to android and lying around for two weeks (btw. it needed only 2.5 charges in that period) and it was never stuck. I flashed it yesterday to Sailfish and now it is blinking yellow... This is soooo... :(

After the last update (3.2.0.12) and as it went straight into empty battery again it didn't brick but started into the sailfish loading-screen and everything went fine. Between my last posting an this update i had the bricking twice. I know one time is no proof but maybe the bug was found and eliminated.

will256 ( 2019-12-18 19:53:25 +0300 )edit

nope, I actually flashed it fresh to 3.2.0.12. Some hours ago I updated to 3.2.1.20... it didn't even last 2 hours and it's blinking yellow death again.

btw: I have nothing installed yet but standard stuff (anything offered from jolla including android support but without exchange support).

One thing I noticed as I was playing around with CSD was, that fingerprint sensor can't initialise.

Had similar problems with SFOS on XA2. For me, the phone got back to normal operation by disabling Alien Dalvik. I then installed aliendalvik control through open repos and disabled SMS access for all android apps. Now everything is working normal again except that my status line (e.g. reception, simcard active, battery status etc.) is gone.Solved the latter issue by disabling/enabling wifi and rebooting as suggested here: https://together.jolla.com/question/209354/top-status-bar-not-shown/

@inte. Hi. Did you really get rid of the freezing-problem? I don't have sms access allowed to any Android app but freezes keep happening.
