If I want to record voice messages in Whatsapp, then the recorded talk is so quiet, that it is very hard to understand. But it is not only a Android behavior, also listen to music or phone calls are very quite, i.e. the sound level seems to be quite low.

Update:The Whatsapp problem is a known issue I realized. " Voice calls with Whatsapp are not usable as the voice volume level is minimal (if can be heard at all)." (https://together.jolla.com/question/208530/release-notes-310-seitseminen/#208530-update-version-history)

Since some months I use this two pulseaudio commands from terminal app:

pactl set-source-volume 2 200% #mic 200%
pactl set-sink-volume 1 200% #speaker 200%

I tried them out on my Xperia X. Maybe it's another number on other devices, please comment this for XA2 when this helped someone.

I simply repeat them after reboot because I had no need for some autostart or pulseaudio configuration file. You get the commands back by pressing top arrow or search by CTRL + R for #mic and #speaker.

Sorry that I reported it not until now but it was some days in German ubuntuusers, too. Better late then never or too late. I know how important that information is and want it to share with the whole community first time and it looks like the first solution (like this or alternatives).

Greetings, Benno-007

Hi Benno,

I just tried it on my XA2 and it works! Thanks a lot as I rely on voice messages quite a lot!

Best regards,

Jasper
