Text input field disappeared in Whatsapp?! [answered]

Dear sailors,
since the last WhatsApp update (2.19.243) the keyboard overlays the text input field. The entered text can not be seen anymore. Previously, the input field moved up as soon as the keyboard was activated. Since the update, the position remains unchanged and the field is no longer visible. This error only occurs on my Xperia X. On my Xperia Xa2 it works as it should. (Both devices Build 3.1.0.11) Can someone confirm this bug or is it only on my device? Maybe someone has a tip for a solution.

remove and reinstall whatsapp

The problem only affects the Xperia X.
