It seems like the feature phone shown at MWC18 by Jolla has been (unofficially) identified: it may be the chinese Kingsun EF33.

Shown at the MWC Barcelona 2018, the Kingsun EF33 is a feature phone very similar to the Nokia 3310. With factory settings it’s an Android 6, in a version adapted to run on non-touch screens. The idea of Jolla-Devices is to promote a Sailfish OS porting on this phone, trying to repeat the work done by Jolla.

Jolla can't even properly support the hardware they already have blessed. splitting the.codebase up would only make it worse

I think the request is actually to produce a community port. Unfortunately it is unclear, if the prerequisites like unlocked bootloader and open driver base are given.

@Kekskopf yes, it's as you said

@d, then please provide web-links to the source-code of its "Android kernel" and its (binary) firmware files.
Without them nothing can be achieved.
Finally submit these pointers (web-links) to Jolla-devices.com to let this device reach "phase 2": Software prerequisites achieved
You may also submit this information at https://wiki.merproject.org/wiki/Adaptations/libhybrhis

FYI an extract from yesterday collaboration meeting.

08:05:38 <sledges> #topic SF Porting on Kingsun EF33 (feature phone) (10 min - asked by minos) </sledges>

08:06:08 <mister_magister> device is not even ulockable there is nothing to talk about </mister_magister>

08:06:10 <sledges> is minos around? doesn't look like </sledges>

08:06:10 <sledges> #info < minos> The hardware is now available, found on china by Jolla-devices blog, thanks to Khang, local contact. Could it be possible to release a beta version of SF, for that device? Even in a unofficial way? It was shown at MWC 2018, as working prototype... A first porting request was made on Twitter with bad results; it seemed clear that a porting, without aid from Jolla is not possible. </sledges>

08:06:30 <sledges> #info < jolla> This was just a demonstration case, we aren't working on this so there isn't anything we can share at the moment </sledges>

08:07:01 <mister_magister> we can switch to next topic now </mister_magister>

08:07:07 <lbt> #info David Greaved - sailor and Mer guy </lbt>

08:08:22 <extechop> (should that be Merman?) </extechop>

08:08:30 <mister_magister> sledges: device is not unlockable so even if there was something from jolla side you cannot install it or do anything with that phone </mister_magister>

08:08:42 <mister_magister> you can info it or something, there is nothing to talk about on this topic </mister_magister>

08:09:07 <sledges> giving another 2 mins </sledges>

08:09:32 <mister_magister> at least two people tried to explain him that on twitter but he just won't listen </mister_magister>

This answer puts sort of an end to the EF33. From my side, I hope it doesn't put an end to the possibility of a sfos feature phone.
