bluetooth loudspeaker recognized as keyboard

I have a small bluetooth loadspeaker and used it some time ago with my jolla without problems. Now, after some OS updates, I want to use it again now running Sailfish 3.1.0.11. But now during pairing it's recognized as a keyboard instead of audio/media device. Any idea what I can do to get it connected again correctly?

It must be corrupt headset trying to crack your phone. 😎

Try the following:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Bluetooth
  2. Enable Bluetooth
  3. Press and hold the repective Bluetooth device if it is already paired, otherwise connect to the device first
  4. Select the entry Show device settings from the context menu
  5. Change the type appropriately

I tried it, but it only gives me the possibility to select keyboard, mouse, game controller, toys and others (I hope I named it correctly, my jolla is set to German language). Something like loudspeaker is not shown. And it also looks like the loudspeaker itself is waiting for the right answer, the LED showing connection status is still blinking. As said, some OS versions ago it was working out of the box.

Which Bluetooth protocols are supported by the device (this is listed below the type)?

Remove the pairing from your Sailfish device and also reset the bluetooth connections list of your speaker (look into the manual on how to do that on your specific speaker), then pair the devices again and that should do the trick.

Just tried to connect this S2G WaterCube to my Raspberry-Pi. And here the same, Like on my Jolla Phone it believes it's a keyboard. So either it's a linux bluetooth driver problem, or a problem of the WaterCube. I will investigate on it later.
