Turkmen Language Support [duplicate]
A backup of Translated files in XLF format is available here: https://github.com/Ibragimov/Turkmen-Language-Support-for-Sailfish-OS
Hi @jolla, @sledges, @jahonen @holger
I have some great news for Sailfish OS and Turkmen users around the World!
Over 50 files translated into Turkmen and proofreaded with terminology file! They are ready to be uploaded for Sailfish OS now. The other set of files is in progress to be translated soon.
So, to upload the hard work - could you please, add Turkmen language (tk) to start and continue Sailfish OS translations into Turkmen!
Please, assign me as a translator/coordinator to support Turkmen translations, make QA, improvements and possible updates or corrections.
I am very excited to provide mentorship and help for Turkmen language on this localization project, so hope that translations will grow along with Tajik language.
Thank you for prompt reply, Victor Ibragimov
@Victor Ibragimov, IMO this should be re-posted as an "answer" in the TJC-thread "[Official announcement] Translate Sailfish OS: elections of community languages & linguists", although I well understand that the handling of your contribution "Tajik Language Support for SailfishOS" (which received no real reaction at all) almost guides one to try another way.
Still, it does not make sense to clutter TJC with "questions", for which a proper thread exists, even if Jolla employees and community coordinators fail to react at all. Hence please repost this there, where it belongs. Posting this at a different location will not make these people suddenly change their manners.
BTW, I received no reaction at all WRT my "English (Europe), locale en_DK" suggestion and volunteering for more than two years.

BTW, you missed to put @martonmiklos on your short list of addressees ( @sledges, @jahonen, @holger ).
olf ( 2019-11-25 17:40:22 +0200 )editAh @olf , I am not working for Jolla, I am just a passionate supporter. @Victor Ibragimov if you want to work on the translations before the Jolla employees put the requested languages to Pootle it is possible to work on the XML-s locally and translate with Qt Linguist. (Back in the old days I did this way.)
martonmiklos ( 2019-11-25 19:02:41 +0200 )edit@martonmiklos, I know that you are "just" a passionate i18n supporter.
What I missed, is that only Jolla (employees) are able to progress things as e.g. adding new languages at Pootle.
Sorry for falsely calling you out.
Anyway, this is just another field where Jolla more and more clearly shrugs off contributors by ignoring them and their tries to contribute.
olf ( 2019-11-25 20:00:46 +0200 )editI think they are just more busy with different things. But pinging them on various channels (IRC, mail, mer meeting helps usually.)
