I have recently acquired a Sony Xperia 10 Plus, purchased a SailfishOS license and installed it on the device with no issues. The problem becomes when I try to turn off the phone, it randomly reboots instead of really turning it off. It occurs both turning it off in the traditional way (pushing power button and then touching the on screen button to power off -> Sometimes -randomly- the phone reboots). And doing a

devel-su shutdown -h now

by terminal. It has the same behavior: some times the phone powers off, some times it reboots instead.

Someone else can confirm this behavior in the Xperia 10 Plus too?

EDIT: same problem with Xperia 10 without 'plus'

Still not fixed into 3.2.1

That's really bad news. Today after inserting a SanDisk Extreme microSDXC (128 GB, A2, Class 10, U3, V30) in my Xperia 10 Plus, I only was able to shutdown the phone after more than 10 attempts. I really think that Jolla needs to fix this bug as it makes almost impossible to turn off the phone and I can't figure where is the problem exactly.

I think it's due to kernel bugs... I've backported a few fixes from sony's 4.14 branch to 4.9 and it helps quite a bit on AOSP9. Waiting for more positive feedback on XDA to make a pull request, but maybe Jolla can test those in the mean time.

Most probable offender bug fix merged in Sony's kernel tree... Others too...

afaik seems to be worked out also by Jolla: https://github.com/mer-hybris/android_kernel_sony_msm/commits/jb48527

The upstream kernel fixes for Xperia 10 and XA2 were merged to OS release 3.3.0. This should help in eliminating random reboots, at least make them less frequent.
