I installed SailFish X to Sony Xperia 10 device (i4113). Now I'm trying to add Google account to the device and it constantly fails. I can get pass the two factor authentication and on the permissions window I press "Allow" I get long key as an answer (sort of one time password, see the attached screenshot) with the message "Copy the code, switch to your app and paste there" (this is a rough translation). I never reach to the "Rewiew" page where should be possible to select what to sync.

The same for me. Xperia XA2. I cannot log in to Google's account nor I can import contacts file that I exported from my Android phone.

Try add Google account when you are connected to mobile network instead wifi. That helped me.

I've tried both mobile network and WiFi, in both cases the result is the same - I'm only getting a key with the guidance to copy and paste it to my application.

I had the same on my tablet a few days ago. I reported to a sailor, and he said they had seen it happen, and to just keep trying....i kept trying and it eventually worked.

This keep trying option seems not to be working. Does anyone know is there some configuration files where the account(s) information is stored? May be the Google account can be added manually by directly editing some configuration files.

Checked today after giving up for some weeks to let Jolla work on the issue. Not sure if it's fixed for everyone or intentionally but this works for me (Sailfish 3.2.1.20, Xperia XA2):

  1. On the Jolla phone go to the Settings app -> Accounts and disable your Gmail account. If you keep getting email sync errors (e.g. on the Events view) restart your phone. After the restart make sure you do not observe any syncing of the account.
  2. On a device that works with your google account (it's a laptop for me), login to your account, visit https://accounts.google.com/b/0/DisplayUnlockCaptcha page and click Continue.
  3. On the Jolla phone go to Settings -> Accounts and enable your Gmail account.
  4. Go to the Email app and click Sync.

Hope this helps anyone and this is not a duplicated hint.

I had the same problem: https://together.jolla.com/question/216484/unable-to-create-google-account/

It worked as I tried it some days later.

Unfortunately this didn't work for me. I disabled developer mode, rebooted the device (twice) and tryed again. I still reach to the point where a key is offered to me with a sentence to cooy paste it into your app

The problem with signing in to Google accounts was fixed in Sailfish OS release 3.2.1.20. It became available for all users on Dec 18th, 2019.
