Contact's profile pictures do not sync with carddav or Exchange account

When syncing my carddav account (Fruux in my case) with my Sailfish device, profile pictures are only synced one way. When I add a picture to one of my contacts on Sailfish, it is not added on the server although two-way sync has been selected. The other way is working. Besides, it seems to be no server issue because it has been working on Android.
I also noticed that behaviour when syncing my Exchange mailbox. After adding an avatar to a contact, the sailfish-eas process constantly consumes one cpu core, and synchronization doesn't finish. After deleting the new avatar, syncing works again.
