The device freezes randomly. Touchscreen unresponsive. Pressing the power button putting it in standby and waking it up again solves the freeze. I tried: removing SD card factory reset complete reflash Nothing solved the issue. Even in the start tutorial after a reflash the device freezed several times. 3.2 and 3.3 makes no difference. Any ideas?

I have the same problem on my Sony Xperia 10 Dual with 3.2.1. I thought I was the only one. I've tried everything. I've also deactivated all patches. Unfortunately, the problem only occurs sometimes. It can't really be the hardware, because the power switch always eliminates the problem immediately. I have no reason for this effect. With the program Journal Viewer I tried to see what is logged at the moment of the error. Unfortunately, I haven't found anything unusual here either. Let's see if others have the problem. I'm curious.

I am affected from the beginning, too. Sony Xperia 10 Plus (i4213), SFOS: every release

It seems to me it's not sailfish related:

[link]"Having touch screen issues on your Sony Xperia 10/10 Plus? You’re not alone"

For me the problem first occured in october - still beta, so I was patient. But then the problem persited in the final version, even after updating. Some times the phone is unusable despite locking/unlocking by pressing the power button for countless times - and no one here was moaning, so I searched the web: And yes, apparently Sony blew it!

I found that the phone still can run for days without any problem. But only in 1 out of ~10 cases after a fresh boot. And I'm not sure about the circumstances we can trigger. At least for me, the highest possibility of a successful reboot (in terms of being flawles for a 'while') seems to boot while charging - but even that may be wishful thinking.

So at least 3 users here are curious, what a solution could be.

Have fun at home and stay safe

cheers

"Glad" to see others having this problem, too - even with Android. I found something stange: whe I remove the sim card while the device is on, SFOS shows "restart to use sim...", but the freezes disappear completely. Sadly it does not matter if I restart using the card in slot 1 or 2, it freezes again until I remove it. I am gonna try another simcard, I must have one in the dust of a drawer somewhere... Still seaching. Stay healthy

Interesting approach. Please state your findings then. If a different Sim would be the solution, I'd be glad, because then we're able to fix the issue...by using a new / different card. I keep my fingers crossed

Cheers

oh, I'm sorry, seems it was pure coincidence on this day. Damn...

updated to 3.3.0.16 and the same freeze + reboot instead of shutdown. Removed Sim-Card and still the freezing. If on apps screen then the description under the icons change to a x and touch is frozen. On / Off key bring it back to life. Sometimes it work for a longer time but after screen look most it happens. I've now reinstalled Android and here i can see that sometimes parts of the screen unresponsive. Not so extreme as with SFOS but happens. Is here anyone that run SFOS on this Device without problems ? Can the device or touch defective and need repair ?

Edit June 16: I've installed now LOS 17.1 on the Xperia 10 Plus and SFOS 3.3.0.16 on a new buyed used Xperia XA2 Ultra. Both runs now and SFOS run on the XA2 very good. Now it's possible to explore and refine SFOS (Apps, Flatpak, etc) . More follow later in a new thread (struggle with to low audio volume on DAC's and BT Headphones).

I have a Xperia 10 Plus Dual Sim running without those issues. So I guess the hardware might be defective.

you are lucky, it really is a common problem on those devices. I ended up pressing on/off like 20 times after a reboot, it seems to help for a while.

I will try to have the device repaired or replaced. Had bought it as used from a large local supplier at a reduced price with warranty.

i have.it.too. dont.think its.hardware. the whole.system stucks for a while then continues.

feels like broken digitizer sometimes. started.with 3.3.14/16.

turned off sime patches like statusbar lets see

also the app kills.due.to oomph are increasing

is it possible that it depends on the hardware revision. Mine is a i4213. What is yours ?

New idea:

Try bending your device. It seems after my first attempt, this could do the trick.

Edit May 16th:

After one week of 'testing', I can confirm my first conclusion. For me it does the trick - light bending of the phone resolves the unresonsive-touchscreen-issue.

So thanks (again) to @attah for giving the input :-)

in my case, the unapplying of several patches didi help. still not sure if a special patch caused the problem or just the total number

neighter bending nor unapplying patches resolves the issue here. Rapid fire pressing the on/off button does the trick here :-)

@apozaf

So at least one woraround for you.

Locking/unlocking was only a short solution for me and when it got worse, this didn't even helped me e.g. typing in a login to some webaccount wich took ages to accomplish.

@pawel

btw.: on my 10+ I don't have any patches since they to often got broken after updating SF. So, even patches cant't be the sole source of the problem, I suppose.
