XA2 asks usb-pc-mode when connected to a charger, and it doesn't charge.

When I connect my phone to a charger, it sometimes asks if I want media transfer or developer mode or charging. When this happens, it charges really slowly (about a percent per hour), or it even drains very slowly. After a while, it tells me it has to little current to charge. The phone doesn't get hot, even when left in the case, so it isn't drawing a lot of current and using or wasting it.

I don't suspect my charger and cable, because it are the official charger and cable, they look as new, and they are just a few months old. Above all, it never happens when it was under a day ago that I restarted my phone. Only when my phone has been running for a while. Restarting the phone fixes it for a while. The problem started after the 3.3.0 update. Before 3.3.0 I never had any problem like this.

Similar or same issue with my Xperia X and 3.3. I fixed it by forcing the menu choice to charge only...it works fine then, but for some reason doesn't seem to charge unless it is forced to charge only mode.

Sounds like charger type detection error - phone can't figure out whether it is connected to a pc or a charger.

Sometimes some devices will recover from this, but IIRC xa2 and few other devices can also enter into a persistent "no idea what is connected" state (and probably draw no / less power than otherwise would be allowed) -> the cable needs to be physically detached (and attached to try again).

NB Whether/when/how usb mode is selected can hide the issue to some extent, but should have no effect on charging itself.

This is exactly my problem. From your description it sounds like it is a hardware problem. But weird thing is, I don't have problems when my phone hasn't been running for more than a day. Also, the problems started very soon after I did the update to 3.3 about 10 days ago. I never had a problem before. What do you recommend?
