hello, i've recently buy a jolla (arrived yesterday) and when I try to add jolla account I always got a message that says "Oops, problem with account creation"

  • I already tried to reset the device (to factory default) many times with differents configuration (connect with 3G, Wlan)
  • I can sign-in on https://account.jolla.com/ (with my web browser's phone, so internet connection seems to work)
  • when i try to create a new one from the phone it can't even check username aviability

thanks

ps: I don't know if it's linked but when i try to enable developer mode I'm stuck on "enabling developper mode" loading page.

pps: if it can help my jolla's username is : newincpp and sailfish version is 1.0.0.5

Have you tried resetting the device to factory defaults yet?

This has been a problem ever since in 1.0.0.5. Account can be created on jolla's website using a computer. The problem should no longer occur on later versions of Sailfish. Reset your device. 1st thing after reset: Enable developer mode. Then update your jolla to latest version of Sailfish.

If you can't update, run Terminal, log in with devel-su and password, then enter pkcon install store-client and pkill store-client.

Can you please check the time and date on your device? If that is wrong the SSL cert verification will fail and no account can be created.

Believe me, I ran into this problem with 4 devices on 1.0.0.5. Do as I say and you shall feel a relief once in a while. Once developer mode is enabled, you have options. Your problem here is 1.0.0.5. Nothing else!

I got my Jolla yesterday and couldn't register from the phone, the date was correct. I want that Jolla will be a complete success, and I think it is not necessary to ship a new phone with a old bug. I'm hatched by Apple (they are also not perfect)-products but when I made the decision to avoid all big companies in future a retread to OSS with everything, I knew I will loose some comfort (and will win other). What I want to say, I have a good reason to use a Jolla-phone (like a lot others), so I will forgive a lot of bugs, but a average user will be complete unlucky since the first minute - completely unnecessary, because you know to fix it. Why you ship a new phone with old software? Make it better, because you can make it better! Not for me, for a good future for Jolla ;) I hope when I will buy my next Jolla it will work out of the box, without need to search what means "oops there is a problem, try it later" (what obviously never will happen).

If you can sign in in web, you already have an account, haven't you?

Don't create an account in the Jolla, just sign in with your existing user data.

Check out the page in your Jolla, you should be able to select whether to create a new account or wether to log in with an existing account. I mixed that up too and what you describe (check nickname) sounds like you are setting up a new account.
