Hello together!

Today I tried to install Sailfish on my third mobile phone (XA2) and it went wrong.

I followed the tutorial from the first to the last step.

First attempt: With out-of-the-box-cable on USB3-Port: The last step (flashing): Parition 1 was good, partition 2 not. The error message contained: "...too many links".

And when I want to boot the mobile phone, I get the message: "Your device is corrupt. It can't be trusted and will not boot."

Second attempt: With out-of-the-box-cable on USB2-Port: The last step (flashing): FAILED (Write to device failed in SendBuffer() (too many links)) Failed to execute 'fastboot.exe -s CQ30004CDC flash boot_a hybris-boot.img FLASHING FAILED

Can you help me out?

Best regards, Multicopter

Which Android Version was installed before flashing? Maybe you should start over with a fresh intall of Android 8 with Emma or Flashtool. Did you check you have the correct SFOS image for your device? Look for the model number e.g. H3113 etc. Only use USB 2 if possible. Good luck!

Hello TrulloF,

thanks for your answer.

Which Android Version was installed before flashing?

It was the out-of-the-box Android version. The phone worked fine before flashing.

Maybe you should start over with a fresh intall of Android 8 with Emma or Flashtool.

I tried to do this with Emma. Emma canceled the procedure and said, it made no update. But something happened and I get a different error message when booting the phone. Now I get: "Your device software can't be checked for corruption. Please lock the bootloader."

Did you check you have the correct SFOS image for your device? Look for the model number e.g. H3113 etc.

I used: Sailfish_OS-Jolla-3.3.0.16-h3113-0.0.7.23.zip

Only use USB 2 if possible.

In the later attempts I use USB 2.

Good luck!

Thank you! :-)

And the question is, what was the out-of-the-box Android version? Depending on this, a downgrade or a reset may be required to Android 8.1 or 9.

Hello s_mario,

it is Android 8.0.

And the installation guide says: Both Android 9 and Android 8.1 are now okay as the starting point for installing Sailfish OS 3.2.0 and later releases.
