Advanced MMS Settings App

This lets you control the following settings:

User-Agent: (Jolla, Nokia N9, iOS, Windows, Android, Custom) User-Agent Profile: (Jolla, Nokia N9, Windows, iPhone, Custom) Maximum Message Size: (Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large, Custom) Maximum Image Size: (Default 3pm, Custom)

Can anyone recommend the best settings to use for this? Currently on T-mobile and having trouble getting mms messages to send or receive. Have checked the APN settings.

The settings you describe on page 3 are the ones I'm using. I've tried both these servers: epc.tmobile.com and fast.t-mobile.com. Neither seems to work. I've received some MMS messages on this phone with sailfish before, but it seems to have stopped working.

I was wondering if perhaps changing some advanced MMS settings might be helpful.

i have also answered a correct response for this before. I'm on a T-mo MVNO, Mint, and for me, epc.tmobile.com and fast.tmobile.com work fine. With data, use IP exclusively, and for MMS, use IPv6, no authentication unless T-Mobile specifies it (they probably don't). Most importantly, GET THE MESSAGE CENTER CORRECT. It's just called the MMSC by most cases, but T-Mobile's should be

http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc

Thanks, I’ve done all that. I was more curious as to why Jolla has all these “user agents” you can switch between, what exactly that does, and if there is any benefit to choosing one over another.

well, at best, user agents are only relevant from within the web browser, as websites will use the user agent to identify your OS or web browser to control what features to offer or what version of the site to use, if you could be using the app instead, etc. If you were so inclined, you could use IE and be unable to access many websites or their full features.

Ideally, you would use a modern Firefox or Chrome user agent to access all sites on the web, but our options are limited with QtWebkit.
